For the price of this food I would expect a much better standard. The restaurant is tired and jaded, the chairs seem as though they should be from the garden.

Stayed here for a few days, food excellent and the choice changes every day. Sunday roast is highly recommended!

The restaurant at Moonfleet Manor Hotel caters for the usual range of meals in a day but does more versions of each of them to gear itself to cater for families with children than most hotel restaurants. Generally it does this well, but it may be this puts a strain on the kitchen which means that it is not quite... More

After spilling 7 glasses of champagne over my father - which they found slightly amusing and gave a half hearted apology for, they also tried to charge for 2 of the afternoon teas which had already been paid for. Quite frankly - don't bother.

Whilst on our holiday, we ate here for dinner, breakfast and kids high tea .....The local scallop starter was delicious with a little surprise of curry flavours in the sauce and then crispy parma ham shards.....yum. Tomato and pepper soup was extremely tasty. Bread was very home made and fresh.....very good. The lobster salad was amazing and fresh. The slow... More

We booked cream teas for five at this hotel having been told by a friend that it was spectacular. It was to celebrate a friend's birthday and we arrived to be told "Sit anywhere". We had hoped for a reserved area but many of the sofas in the 2 lounges were occupied by residents spread out and often asleep (not... More

The restaurant was noisy and full of unruly children. The chairs were hard and uncomfortable. The food was good and well prepared. The wait staff was scattered and had some difficulty answering questions about the menu. The bartender was excellent....made a good drink....and seemed to really care about his craft. The rest of the restaurant staff seemed exhausted.....as if they... More

The sun was shinning and the views lovely. The building itself is very, very tired but has great potential. Staff pleasant and helpful but,the restaurant disappointing. The room is more like a hut added on to the main Manor and the smell not pleasant, probably due to curtains etc needing cleaned. The room has no atmosphere [soft, low music might... More

I pooped in here for lunch on my own, my wife and I had been before for lunch. On the first occasion we had a great balinese curry ( which seems to be a house speciality). Today I ha da Mezze. All good - except the aubergine pate (babba ganoush) was pale blue ( guess some aubergine skin was put... More

24 members of our family (aged 2 to 88) stayed at Moonfleet Manor - the restaurant staff were wonderful and nothing was too much trouble even during busy times. Breakfast was huge and delicious, the lunch menu was excellent with lighter choices and small portions if required (not so small in reality!). There was a great children's menu for lunch... More
