Description: Mallams is a long standing favourite of both locals and visitors since...
Mallams is a long standing favourite of both locals and visitors since 1990. The restaurant is in an beautiful position with views of the bustling harbour. The Tudor beams and stone walls of the listed building have a traditional feel but are complemented by contemporary decor. The food is very definitely in the 21st century, an eclectic mix of ideas from British cuisine, with a touch of French and some Asian influence as well, always using the freshest, local produce. Seafood is much in evidence, as you would expect, but meat, game and poultry feature too.All this mixed with exciting wines and cocktails and friendly and attentive service and a really personal touch from the hands on owners make this a venue to remember. We are always happy to discuss your requirements for special celebrations, anniversaries, weddings, birthdays and we will be pleased to design a special menu just for you.

Friends Birthday Dinner

Great 3 course dinner, Pigeon followed by Sea Bass and then a fantastic cheese board. Wine List not bad and interesting drinks menu in general. Service good and friendly and great setting be it winter or summer. Overall good value.

We visited here which was our first visit. The staff were very polite and helpful. We had a three course meal with complimentary chefs stuffed mini peppers (these were not to our liking but thankful we got offered them) the starters were good and we had the steak as a main. This was not as nice as our usual steakhouse.... More

During our 3 day mini break in Weymouth, after much walking, a good meal was our reward. Mallams certainly delivered. Waiting staff were attentive, the restaurant was warm and with a good ambience. Our starter of seared scallops and wild boar meatballs were delicious, our mains of hake and lamb exquisitely presented and so tasty. A truly excellent meal. You... More

Booked for Friday night dinner based on previous reviews and without looking too much into the menu or cost. They squeezed us in, despite the restaurant being full. The restaurant is located right on the quay in a very picturesque part of Weymouth. An attractive setting and the restaurant is very modern and well furnished. Service was very quick and... More

Thank you for your review and we are glad you enjoyed your Valentine's night celebration. We did notice people were indulging in special treats such as Champagne cocktails and after dinner drinks hence the larger than normal bills! Do look out for our special 25th Birthday menu which starts next week, 3 Courses from our "back catalogue" plus a delicious... More

Food was ok,service was fine, but the owner does not have a sense of humour, this chips off onto the staff too,all straight faced.,Not much of an atmosphere either, even the music was rather depressing.

Thank you for your review. It appears from reading your other reviews that you did not enjoy your weekend in Weymouth particularly and that is a shame. We do pride ourselves on our staff being very welcoming and friendly although they probably did not want to intrude too much on Valentine's night when people were trying to have a romantic... More

Booked Friday rather than Saturday ( valentines day) as warned it would be busy. Excellent attention to detail throughout the meal. Catch of the day (john Dory) was beautifully cooked and the scallop starter was the best I've ever tasted. The liqueur coffee was the perfect end to the meal - not too much sickly cream, just right. Only niggle... More

Thank you, we are thrilled that you enjoyed your "pre- Valentine's" experience. It was certainly a busy weekend, we estimate we turned about 300 people away. We do take on board your comments about the tables but the restaurant itself is quite small so larger tables would be rather out of proportion. I think we sat you on a table... More

A fantastic meal Friday night 30th January. Booking online was smooth & Janice was very accommodating - we had a lovely table by the window as we requested. The two ladies front of house could not have been anymore professional or welcoming. They worked so hard but no one was left waiting. Service and food was impeccable and we will... More

We almost missed going to mallams as it was so far down the trip adviser list at #20. Don't be put off by this It was simply excellent. Last night my wife had the scallops with black pudding and bacon which she found to be fantastic. My main course was the bass with mussel broth which was superb. Don't hesitate,... More

We are so glad our position on Trip Advisor didn't put you off coming. The rating system is a very blunt one with all food establishments being lumped together so it is very difficult to compare like with like but thank goodness you persevered and tried us. Our group consisted of 4 adults and the booking was made for a few days before New Year day. The restaurant filled up whilst we there with no tables free from 9pm onwards. We were seated in the back which at first glance I thought would be horrible as we were next to the cloakroom and near the kitchen. As... More

Thank you for your review, we are always pleased to hear comments from our customers and it is very rewarding when they are positive such as yours.
