Great food, great play areas for kids and the service is so friendly. Not the quickest service but we were on holiday and not in a rush and the food was worth waiting for.

A spacious restaurant with a carvery and "open" kitchen. The food was nice but the service wasn't all that good, probably due to not having enough staff on duty to cover all the areas. Whilst my meal had arrived at the table, my husband went up to the carvery and had to wait quite a while until the lady had... More

The place looked ok. Quite nice even. My parents sister and girlfriend all ordered different meals. Gammon was tough as old boots. Chicken was ridiculously dry has been left or reheated. Sweet and sour was so sour half got left. The tikka was all tomato and lacked any flavour. The mixed meat curry litrally had NO flavour. This was just... More

Please don't go to this pub if you want a beer. We have been there five times now and each time they have had a choice of Carling lager or bottled beer. No draught beers or even another choice of lager. Food is overpriced except for the carvery, which if they charged more for, you would want your money back.

Our annual visit to the ' Sunray ' in the past we have had mixed feelings about the quality of the food. On this occasion everyone enjoyed their meal. It was not crowded and I suspect this is the reason for some of the bad reviews, under pressure the food and service suffers. Our waiter was patient and efficient and... More

I have visited this place twice in the last few months. On the first occasion, we were seated promptly, due to the place being half-empty. On the second, we were told there were no seats available, except for the ones in the bar, so we sat there. Walls the mouldy and fly's were everywhere. I went with 4 other people,... More

We had a large party, of 10 people. 7 ordered from the menu and 3 from the carvery. The food was good value, but the service was disorganised, with the carvery guys having to ask for their ticket to go and get their food after everyone else had been served. Sauce for the steak was forgotten. The carvery ran out... More

Been here a few times in the past and enjoyed it. On reading some of the recent reviews was a bit put off but decided to give it a go....and now doubt we'll go again! The carvery was nice. Meat and veg cooked well but no better than any other carvery I've ever had and was certainly NOT worth the... More

After spending a week in Weymouth we chose the sun ray as our last evening meal - big mistake and big disappointment!!! We booked a table for 8pm but arrived early to have a drink and let our son play before dinner. The toilets are filthy, need a good clean and an air freshened! We were stood at the bar... More
