We went to the sunray on a Thursday evening, the menu was very limited so a carver was decided by many of the party. We found the pork and turkey so dry that they were un eatable, £10.99 for scampi seemed a lot for scampi, processed peas and cheap chips. As I say you get what you pay for, so... More

Hot Monday lunchtime, nobody about and maybe ten people eating in the cavernous restaurant.Opted for the carvery (£6.00) which turned out to be an absolute steal at the price.Lashings of everything.Three roasts even on a Monday,Pork,Gammon and Turkey.I had to stop the carving lady from piling my plate too high. All the usual carvewry veg including a very good cauliflower cheese.Keep away... We decided to stop here for food on a saturday lunchtime and not being too busy I can now understand why..reading the recent reviews. We went inside to order drinks at the bar and with one person serving which ended up taking ages, he eventually approached us told us he will serve us and then decided no he wont serve... More

We had been to this pub on our last holiday in 2011, so we decide to return again this year. We found the carvery ok. There were three meats on offer, which you needed a ticket for, but we were told that you could return for more veg and trimmings if required. The staff were friendly and helpful, but I... More

The food served was excellent and the staff were friendly. Although the outdoor furniture has seen better days. Oh and watch out for the seagulls!

I agree with most of the other negative reviews about this pub! I have visited pub many times over the years, at one time this was the place to be for great food and a buzzing atmosphere....oh dear not anymore! A mid week family birthday meal for 17 people, booked way in advance, was a joke for all the reasons... More

Staying in Osmington so tried to go to the Sunray for a quick drink a Wednesday evening but pub was shut by 10pm. Walked down to the Smugglers Inn and had a lovely relaxing beer on comfy sofa. Others guests in Osmington had mixed reports on Sunray.

We went for lunch and waited 3/4 of an hour before we were told there was a problem with the steamer for the salmon. All we had ordered was fish and chips, burger and salmon ( one of the specials) we had queried the wait after 1/2 an hour and were told it would be 5 mins .This was actually... More

The restaurant is in a nice area but the carvery looked poor. We took the carvery as we did not trust what the food would be like if we ordered off the menu. The carvery was average . We agree with all the recent reviews.

Food here is hot, quick and tasty. But if you are after something a little special then this is not the place for you. Staff and very casually dressed, run between the bar and the kitchen and left our plates for a long time before taking them away. However the food was good and we left happy.
