Stopped at The Sunray as from first glance looked great first stop toilets to wash our hands after being on beach. The toilets were awful everything felt dirty doors sticky, tiles, carpet, yellow ceiling, half painted with bits of purple paint. Should have taken hint but walking into restaurant carvery looked nice. Was not until got to sauces where flies... More

Visited while staying in Osmington (Aug 2014) after finding the smugglers inn too busy! They have a great play area which the kids loved had to bribe them to get them to leave! We all had food which came quickly and my gammon and chips was really nice - typical pub food! Hada few drinks then left! We found it... More

Had been to the Sunray about 5-6yrs ago, always lovely place, nice service and food... have some friends visiting from the USA in 2 weeks, so thought we'd go the Sunray to book a table for them... but what has happened to the place????!! The outside looked shabby, 3 'hanging' baskets outside, were just that, hanging half off the wall,... More

My wife and I called here on a lovely Saturday evening and sat outside for a meal. We had planned to go to the nearby Smugglers Haunt at Osmington Mill, but that was packed, so we thought we'd give this place a try. The excellent play area was great for the kids, but would spoil it for most adults. Inside... More

The place needs some serious doing up but for a family of 4 with 2 noisy boys it was fine. The food was nice, we all had the carvery and then went for some icecream, the portions were very generous. All of the staff were friendly and is was ok value wise.

Worst meal ever! If you want a pub with poor beer/wine choice and the old non-delivery excuses and blandest food imaginable then visit. Terrible service and tacky. You and your family and friends deserve better. Avoid - it will ruin your holiday.

2nd year in Dorset and had to return to The Sunday. Just as good this year. Great carvery, well cooked meat and plenty of it, great veg. Good service. Will be back next year.

Would never recommend this dump to anyone. I had the most awful experience here ever. Last night of our holiday so we decide to treat ourselves to a meal out. We unfortunately chose this excuse of a pub/restaurant. After waiting 15 minutes to be served we ordered our meals. 20 minutes later a waitress appears to tell us that 2... More

Lots of ales on show but all off the menu. Food 50 minutes from order to table. Something was going badly wrong on the kitchens and the beer cellars. Had time for a second beer before the meal arrived, shame there was none.

We arrived and on being shown to a table were told that a colleague would be with us shortly. we waited.... and waited... and waited. Eventually my partner went to the bar to get us some drinks whilst I tried to get the attention of one of the waiters. This proved difficult - the waiting staff bustled about waving their... More
