Worth the walk up to The Nothe Tavern. Good view over the harbour and town from the rear patio garden. We regretted having a prior reservation elsewhere or we would have eaten there - an interesting menu and the food looked delicious and plentiful.

Thought we would pay a visit early on a sunday afternoon, we booked the previous day and arrived shortly after midday for a 12:30 lunch. Having been seated we then waited and waited and waited during which time the pub started to fill up. I then mentioned to the waitress that we were ready to order to which the girl... More

Came here for a surprise birthday meal for my mum. They decorated the table, checked our orders and all the food came out at the same time. Pretty impressive considering there was 17 of us! The food was delicious and the service superb. They even turned the lights down to bring out the cake! Could not fault a thing.

Great value carvery. Less than £10 a head and masses of food. Some of the meat is a little overcooked but the vegetables are great. Biggest problem is eating too much. On a Sunday well worth a visit but best to book to get a table whatever time you go Its about 12 -8

Our table for 4 was unfortunately to the left of the door as you enter the building. The staff are absolutely delightful and my sirloin steak was delicious.

I have eaten at this local pub before, and been very happy, but on this visit I was dismayed by the lack of cleanliness. The smell of grunge was obvious as we walked through the door, if I had been in different company I would have suggested that we go somewhere else. However that was not an option. The staff... More

A group of 8 friends ate lunch here today. Very welcoming place, staff very friendly and helpful. Food delicious and very good portions. Great value for money and all meals were thoroughly enjoyed, will recommend to others and return in the future.
