Sunday lunch

We visited The Nothe Tavern for lunch today not knowing the current owners only took over on Friday. Nothing was too much trouble and the carvery was very good. There was one vegetarian in our party and the chef was more than happy to cater with three choices all served with the carvery... read more

I came to the pub on sunday 24 January with my two boys and my mum in law for a sunday lunch carvery. We hadn't booked but we were accommodated by the friendly staff anyway. We all had the carvery, the meat portions were generous and the vegetables, roast potatoes etc were nicely cooked and delicious. The homemade yorkshire puddings... More

It appears that this pub has been through troubled times recently, and it really needs some time to see what sort of recovery takes place. Initial thoughts are that a refurbishment must be fairly high in priorities. The layout is now rather strange with a coffee machine and related equipment cutting the bar in half. The cosy alcoves that existed... More

Visited the Nothe Tavern, Weymouth last Sunday, 10th Jan 16 and so impressed with the traditional carvery and service we returned again. The new owners only took over the licence last week with no debit card facility - previous owners cut the lines in hasty departure, however, this did not deter the new landlord who gave my family full service... This was truly a catalogue of comedy errors! We really did think we were on a secret camera/social experiment tv show! The list of out of stocks was as long as our arm. The menu was very basic but ok if you like chips and peas. A proof read over the menu wouldn't go a miss either. One couple seated... More

We booked a table for 6 for Sunday carvery, Mistake! No napkins, poor service, staff didn't seem to know what they were doing, meat looked over cooked and not a selection of vegetables.! We left and had a lovely meal at the Rembrandt, so disappointing as that place before was the place to be on a Sunday! Such a shame!... More

This is my personal review and opinion: Today 13 December 2015 I needed food before doing some Christmas shopping, my wife and I went to the Nothe Tavern. I should have realised when the barmaid said she had no lemon that things were not as they should be. I signed up for the carvery. we paid to park and took... More

Reunion of old work colleagues and wife's , Arrived at the tavern and found our friends, the pub was quiet and we went to our table. The meal was tradition Xmas meals, and to be fair was what you would expect, the service was good, the food was good the pub was clean and tidy. The only thing strange was... More
