I have eaten at this local pub before, and been very happy, but on this visit I was dismayed by the lack of cleanliness. The smell of grunge was obvious as we walked through the door, if I had been in different company I would have suggested that we go somewhere else. However that was not an option. The staff... More

Gem of a Pub near the Nothe Fort. We arrived for Sunday Lunch, only to find the entire interior booked (will book next time!): luckily, the weather was nice, so we elected to take our carvery lunch on the patio outside, enjoying the scenic view across the harbour. The beer was excellent, the carvery portion was very generous (beef in... More

Staff were friendly. We did go there just after opening time and we were the only ones there. The food wasn't up to much. Very good portion size but we had the ribs and they were tasteless. Very disappointing despite reading reviews before we went.
