Carvery as good as ever

We have been going to the Nothe Tavern for many years and were disappointed to hear that James and Caroline had left. Not knowing what to expect we visited the Nothe on Sunday 21st June, well I can honestly say the carvery is as good as ever. All the meats were well cooked and the portions were... read more

Last year we visited Weymouth for the weekend of my birthday. We had a lovely evening at the Nothe Tavern, lovely food, and excellent service. I have a very special birthday this July so decided to book for my whole family to enjoy a weekend in Weymouth, including a meal at the Nothe Tavern, so booked a table last July... More

I have been to the Nothe Tavern many times and have always been satisfied. I had one meal there at the end of May and it was as good as ever. New management had taken over, and they seemed to be very nice people. I decided to go again on, I think it was, 25th May and was staggered to... More

Visited this pub on 16th June after a long trip to Weymouth with my family. Traditional looking pub with very friendly staff who couldn't have been more helpful. We were offered toys and colouring books for our child whilst we waited for our food. There was also a good choice of ales on offer. Food was delicious and plentiful so... More

We visited here for Sunday carvery it was fab. You had 3 choices of meat and plenty of vegetables to choose from. It is nice to sit outside and look out over the harbour and Weymouth bay.

So this is a traditional and local pub . Not the best decor but more than made up for by the fantastic food - we have been twice recently once with the dormer proprietors and again very recently with the new. Thank goodness they have retained the chef and the staff are friendly as well. Superb pub food great value... More

We have been going up the nothe tavern for years. It was a fantastic pub. Great food and friendly service. However.... We booked a table for my mothers birthday. When we arrived we were told we had the wrong day although the date was made clear when booking. We were given menus, then when we wanted to order we were... More

It was myself you spoke to on the phone on the Friday night and you asked for a table at 8 o'clock for tomorrow night (this would be Saturday) We laid the table up on the Saturday night with birthday banners and balloons and no one showed up. I would not have taken a booking at 8 o'clock on a... More

We visited the Nothe Tavern with some reservation having read recent reviews + knowing that there were new owners. We were very pleased with our meals. My husband had his favourite beef + Stilton pie and said it was up to the usual standard. I had the mackerel that was one of the specials and it was delicious. I wish... More

Thank you for visiting us and I'm very sorry for the problems you had on this day. I was on shift on this day and we did explain that all the staff were new, most of them still in their first week and to please bear with us as things might take a little longer than usual. As for the... More

After hearing great reviews in the past, we stopped in for lunch today. Ordered food and drink at the bar in a tab and went to sit outside to enjoy the sun. Had to move tables TWICE due to old dog poo over the floor near the tables. Was then spoken to rudely by a lady telling us we can't... More
