Expensive, due to location on Weymouth sea front.. Eggs overcooked and 3 or 4 of the chips had large black bits on them. Not very appetising. Surely would have been easy to remove. Can of warm beer £2.75. Won't be eating there again

On a trip to Weymouth by coach, we were dropped off at the front and this was the nearest place for something to eat. First thing you notice when you walk in - the smell of baking! They bake cakes on the premises, you can even go and watch them making them. Had a coffee here, it was made just... More

Reading other people's reviews can be an intriguing thing - and just shows how different people are. For example, I think the décor is rather nice - with a good view of the prom!! However, the wackiest comment ever (that just proves you really can't please all of the people all of the time!!) was the suggestion that there was... More

I ordered a cream tea towards the end of the afternoon. I had to go inside to order and pay, then it was brought out to me. The cooked meals looked okay but as there are so many cafes doing the same thing. However, there is a small bakery attached to the café which produces Dorset Apple Cake which makes... More

The inside is a little dated... But look past this and actually the food is home cooked and very palatable. It's also reasonably priced and with generous portions and a large variety to chose from we found this a nice place to stop and have lunch. The home made cakes were also delicious!

A warm welcome on a wet Easter Sunday was received upon arrival. The staff were friendly and helpful. Service was excellent and I was made to feel like important despite the place being busy. The luxury hot chocolate was fantastic and the Portland Crab Sandwich was well worth the money, stuffed full with crab and plenty of flavour. Any visit... More

Four of us ate here for lunch on what was a busy and glorious spring day in Weymouth. We all opted for various different light lunches and they were nice. The service was on the slow side, but to be fair, they did say there would be a 30 minute wait when we placed our order. Just afew little pickey... More

We were very regular customers of the 'Original' Cactus Tea Rooms, but this weekend we finally visited the 'New' Cactus Tea Rooms. Our meal was very nice (Mediterranean vegetable risotto and Trio of butchers sausages with onion gravy and mash) and our deserts just as good (Lemon cake with ice-cream and sticky toffee pudding with ice-cream) . Portion size was... More

Great little place for breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea. We went to the Cactus Tearooms a couple of times during our visit to Weymouth. The Bistro is on the seafront just opposite the fairground rides. On the first visit I choose the coffee and walnut cake, delicious moist cake that left you wanting more. My husband had a toastie with... More
