We went along because of the good reviews on trip advisor and were very glad we did. Best meal of the week! The fish and chips is freshly cooked and faultless - only small quibble was the salad garnish which seems to have become standard. Why would you want salad with fish and chips? My... read more

People seem to rave about this place... Just because it's been on TV that doesn't mean it's amazing! There are worse chippies granted but this is just slightly better than average.

It's a family tradition to eat at the Marlboro, the best fish and chips we've ever had. All the fish we've had has been fresh and cooked to perfection. The battered mackerel is wonderful and can be highly recommended. I wish more fish & chip shops sold it, sustainable and tasty.

Enjoyed the fish and chips here specially the pea fritter have never had one of these before. The staff were friendly, food served quickly and was very fresh. There was a massive queue for take away. We was recommended to eat here from one of the shop keepers at the sea front saying it's the only place she eats which... More

Had 2 cod chips and peas with a couple of drinks and almost £30. Food was nice, not great, just nice. Had one large and one normal size, the normal fish was small. Restaurant ok, clean but very dated and service was okay. Wouldn't return as I thought it too expensive and needs an update.

Went to the Marlboro fish & chip shop for lunch. Whilst i was in there I read an article about sustainable fishing which encouraged customers to try Mackerel instaed of cod. Wow, this was by far the best fish and chip dinner that i have ever had. My son had the sausage in batter, he too said it was the... More

Haven't been here for years, wanted something other than fish so tried the chicken curry. It was home made, massive chunks of chicken, not too spicy. Came with chips and rice, portion was way too big it would have served two comfortably. Incredible value for money.

having been lots of times before we went last Sunday, Waitress ignored us to start with whilst she was eating, then when they were dishing up you could see through the fish tank the young lad handling the chips with his hands, this was the same young lad who could clearly been seen mucking about with a colleague and pushing... Went with my husband while on holiday. I had the small fish, my husband the large which was massive. Everything was cooked fresh and piping hot, lovely crispy batter on fish and the best chips we've had in a long time. Enjoyed it that much went back again a few days later and it was just as good. Nice clean... More
