Decent food, pleasant service - and dog friendly

Dropped in with friends for a weekday lunch - we were the only people eating. All food good, well cooked and prettily presented, but portions not very generous - and why are chips served in a container these days? (But as it's the trendy thing to do just now it may stop soon!). Good pint, friendly... read more

Drove down to the Crown today for wee relaxed late lunch / early tea it was my birthday. Have been here many times before generally en work routes and have really rated it. This was first time with hubby. Unfortunately snow - in May! - and heavy traffic made us late and we arrived at 16.20. Sandwich menu closed at... More

Haven't been to the crown since I was about 14 when the best food it served was cheese toasties. To be honest I preferred it then The decor has been done to make it feel modern and it achieves that without being warm or welcoming. It has lost some of its old world charm. It was busy and although the... More

Lovely place with tasty, hearty food. We all had three courses and each dish was delicious! The aged Angus beef Sunday lunch and the twice cooked Angus steak were a real hit with our group. For dessert I indulged in a dish that presented seven mini desserts, it was beautiful. It's a little more expensive than your usual pub, but... More

We went along here for Sunday lunch with family. Friendly service, excellent food, and plenty of it. The place was very busy but we never felt like we were waiting to be served. Overall good and would highly recommend.

Visited The Crown 4 times this week whilst cycling in the area. 3 lunches and 1 evening meal. Every single time FAB! FAB! FAB! Best fish and chips in Britain. Have been before several times, when staying near by. Cannot wait to go back at the end of May. Missed the fish pie as was out of stock but looking... More

We have just arrived back form a cottage holiday in Mickleton and thought The Crown was by far the best place we ate during our stay and trip around around the area. The meal was of a very high standard, beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Our teenagers especially loved the dessert platter, incidentally the best taster desserts we have ever... More

Lovely food, especially the twice cooked beef. Also loved the fact they do smaller portions. The interior is very nice and the staff very friendly and helpful.

Just back from a wonderful meal at the Crown.. We arrived early (5.30ish)and were given a very warm welcome.. Food is available all day which is great. I love the fact that nearly everything comes in smaller sizes including puddings.. So brilliant for kids. My 7 year old had mussels and loved them.. My 6 year old had the beef... More

This is a fabulous pub that is a fantastic restaurant. I particularly liked the fact that they do all food in starter and main course sizes. We ended up going for a selection of starters to share amongst us... That way we got to try lots more of the delicious food. The staff were helpful and friendly and it had... More
