Congratulations! Lovely pub environment; food fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Went back for a second meal within the week. Deservedly busy!

Our trip to mickleton was made all the more brilliant when we dropped in for a pint! Made to feel fantastically welcome and the beer was delicious! On Christmas Day we treated ourselves to a seriously delicious Durham vodka Bloody Mary (made by the chef himself) and a Durham Gin and tonic..... Amazing!!!! Thank you to the team at the... More

After spending over £300 as a family the previous night, to walk in the next evening to order a couple of quiet drinks and politely ask the landlady whether she had enjoyed her Christmas seemed a perfectly reasonable question. To be bombarded with a very aggressive "would you working all these hours over Christmas? Well... would you??" took me back... More

A two night stay in the micro barn at The Crown was the perfect way to relax after Christmas and to start the new year with a highlight. It's only to be hoped that the rest of the year can match it. The micro barn is just what it proclaims. If you want a vast suite to rest in then... More

We stayed at the campsite at the rear of the Crown and dined in their restaurant 3 times which included New Years Eve. Absolutely superb food throughout our stay and Andrew is not only a fantastic chef he's also the most welcoming of landlords. All the staff were very friendly and service was excellent. Tasting menu for New Year's Eve... More

We have visited The Crown around 10-15 times over the past 2-3 years and have never been disappointed. Recently we hired the West End cottage accommodation the crown have. This was a great winter break with cosy evenings in the crown. Food, drink and accommodation are all at a good prices with great quality. See you again very soon.

Called when passing on the off chance they would be open (normally closed Mon Tue in winter). They were and had a table available, tucked in the corner but well worth it. The food was really good. Would be delighted to visit again.

We stumbled Upon this little gem in the middle of a storm desperate for somewhere to stay. Staff incredibly friendly, the micro barn is amazing. Kitted out with everything you need. Food is delightful, lots of choice and everything looked tasty. Breakfast was unplanned yet completely catered for, considering we were last minute guests in their room we seriously could... More

We have been meaning to visit The Crown all years for their fish and chips. Tonight we managed to make it what can I say the batter on the fish was to die for it has to have been the best fish I have ever had. I had the small Fish and Chips £5.00 you got a choice of garden... More
