Good food, great service and nice atmosphere.

Called on spec and had a lovely late lunch. Food was fresh, hot, tasty, well presented, well served and ample in size. The pub is welcoming and the staff friendly. We will call again as the food was very good but it wasn't cheap. The 2 for £16 menu is good value but is limited in choice.

After our friends took us to view the spectacular High Force Falls on the River Tees in Middleton-in-Teesdale, they took us to The Red Well Inn for Sunday Lunch. My wife started with the Soup of the Day and I tried the Mozzarella and Sun Blushed Tomato Salad with Balsamic Syrup. For our main course, we both had the Roasted... More

We had another great meal at the Red well last night. The staff are all so friendly and attentive at this lovely country pub. It's not always required to book a table ,but it's always advisable on weekends so your not disappointed. We chose the two steak special with a free bottle of wine. The steaks were cooked perfectly to... More

The title pretty much sums it up. The food is fresh, plentiful and tasty, we couldn't fault a thing. Portion sizes are good, in fact very good considering the price, we ate from the 2 for £16 menu section, however all the other items sounded and looked great -again I'd say value for money! The children's meals were very good... More

A party of 11 of us turned up for food at 8.45 on a Saturday night and we were quickly accommodated altogether in comfortable surroundings. the menu caters for everyone and has the cheaper option of 2 for £16.00 on standard bar meals which are not standard. the lasagne is bursting with meat and tasty. Food was beautifully presented and... More

i have eaten here a couple of times in the last few months and every time has been a success, the menu has plenty to choose from something to suit every bodies taste and at a reasonable price. The sausage and mash is my fave!

It's a clean and fresh looking bar/restaurant,with all the usual amenities available, and a reasonable lunch offering, although I suspect much of it had been of the frozen variety.

I am intrigued to know what it was that you ate on your visit to The Redwell that would lead you to think our food is "of the frozen variety" ? Myself and our kitchen team pride ourselves on making everything in house form bread to desserts, steak pies, pickles, chutneys etc all from locally sourced ingredients. In fact the... More

Visited with a friend for lunch and the meal was fabulous! I had heard good reports and they were all true. I had the shank of venison with garlic mash (which was a bit too strong for me, but complemented the venison well), roasted vegetables and delicious gravy. My friend has the twice baked goat's cheese souffle which, again, was... More

We dined again here for the second time in 3 months (since then having recommended it to family members who had eaten here last weekend) they and ourselves were happy with our meals. We had the Salmon Mousse with Prawn and Capers and Goats Cheese and Red Onion on Bruschetta, followed by the Chicken with Chorizo and Red Pepper stew.... More
