Impromptu lunch out with the children. Fantastic service and friendly staff. Mugs of soup and sandwiches were presented beautifully and tasted great. And the waitress checked with the chef regarding our food allergies too. Very good place for lunch. Would highly recommend.

Greeted by a wonderful mature lady . All tables full so we sat and waited near the rear in a waiting area. One minute later we were shown a lovely table. The menu is varied with soup, sandwiches,Pannins, jacket potatoes and puddings, cakes ect. We had no trouble choosing the Tea for Two at £20. This was very good value . We had... More

A recent trip with my boyfriend whilst out shopping in Barnard Castle. We both had sandwiches, scones and tea; all of the food was homemade and very fresh. The service was friendly and prompt and all reasonably priced!

Visited for lunch on good Friday. My club sandwich was delicious - and a really decent sized portion (and I've got a big appetite!) for a good price. Everyone's food looked delicious, in a nice environment and enjoyed by all. Cakes were great and lots of choice. I was also delighted when I asked for CUSTARD with my Bakewell tart... More

Peak sausage sandwiches are THE best here but they soon go so get in early! Fabulous tea and quality coffee, although do ask if you prefer it a little stronger. Cakes are scrummy and fresh and plenty of choice All in all, this is a super little cafe to call in whilst out and about in Barnard Castle

Went in for a mid morning snack. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Spotted the afternoon tea on the menu so went back for that - really enjoyed it. Couldn't finish the last piece of cake so they packed it up for us to take away.. Ten out of ten for service
