This pub isn't all it seems. A cosy atmosphere with a traditional feel. Sunday lunch was excellent with loads of food, fresh vegetables and home made yorkshire puds. The jam roly poly was to die for! Would definitely recommend this pub.

After checking reviews booked for Sunday lunch and was great, all home cooked, hot and large portion. Staff friendly and helpful. Glad we booked as was full, will definitely return!

Local meat and fresh vegetables served with real gravy and Yorkshire pudding with a variety of Crumbles and Custard for 'Afters'; excellent Fish & Chips for those not wanting the meat course. A variety of Beers and excellent Guinness, a warm fire in the 'snug' and another in the main room. Dogs are welcome in the 'snug' which is rather... More

We often eat here for two reasons the food is great and the portions are large the second and a very important reason is our airedale terrier is allowed in the snug. The staff are really friendly and the service really quick for such good food.

The food is generally good for a comfortable, no frills pub. Great in Winter as it's cosy with a real fire. You can also take in dogs. The duck is lovely but get there early as it flies off the menu. You can also have half mash and chips just in case you fancy being good and a bit naughty

This is a wonderful proper old English public house serving a great choice of beers ,wines etc. The menu is superb and so much more than "pubgrub", but home cooked excellence at pub prices The service was great and the ambience perfect. Car parking a problem, but well worth the walk.

Booked for mid-afternoon Sunday lunch and was greeted by the friendly waitress who showed us to our reserved table Our traditional roast meal was served promptly and was delicious, with generous servings of everything, including a tasty red cabbage preserve. This intimate pub has a homely atmosphere run by pleasant staff and has a menu list to meet most tastes.... More

Went for a friday night out with the girls. Food was served promptly and staff were willing to offer alternatives when requested. Good size portions. Varied menu to choose from and we left 6 clean plates. Not keen on the chocolate ginger cheesecake however. Much too gingery.. Do agree that the toilets could do with a makeover however despite the... More

Popped into the Woolpack with friends last Sunday for a few drinks and a Sunday lunch. We had originally picked this pub as it catered for dogs but due to a last minute change of plan our dog didn't travel with us. We decided to still pop on and we are so glad we did. The Sunday lunch (I had... More
