We arrived after booking a week earlier for "Afternoon Tea" ( taking my elderly Step Mum for a Christmas treat) .The staff very polite, helpful, and friendly, shown to our table and everything was lovely, the surroundings and decor' very good. The afternoon tea arrived, WELL, quite honestly in my opinion there was not sufficient food for even two people,... More

Had lovely lunch here with my in laws. Beautiful setting, excellent attentive staff and wonderful tasty food. Taken to our table immediately as the bar area was very busy and staff recognised that my Mother in Law had to sit down. We chose from the A la carte menu which had seasonal Xmas food. Each course was beautiful presented, very... More

My wife and I visited the Hide restaurant at The Tickton Grange Hotel and what a lovely evening we had. On a cold night the Hide was warm and comfortable. The staff were attentive and friendly and the service throughout the meal was excellent. We opted for the house Red an Australian Shiraz which we both enjoyed. The menu was... More

I stayed overnight before a friend's wedding in May. The grounds are a total delight with a little belt of woodland which was then carpeted with bluebells and wood anemones. A small gym has all you need for a quick workout. The rooms are beautifully furnished and comfortable. An excellent, quiet night's sleep. Dinner in the restaurant was beyond excellent... More

Four of us went for afternoon tea last week, £15 per head, plenty of mixed sandwiches, lots of different cakes including plum bread with cheese, also lovely warm scones & plenty of coffee, what we love are the cheese straws, not something you normally get with afternoon tea, lovely. We sat on comfy sofas and were made to feel welcome.

We have visited this restaurant regularly for a number of years. The lunch used to be a taste explosion. Visited again today, what a disappointment . No pre starter, no choice of rolls, totally pedestrian food, could have done better myself after a quick trip around Morrison's. How are the mighty fallen. Wine and service were as excellent as usual.... More

Fantastic afternoon tea and great value at £15 each. Lots of lovely sandwiches and cakes which left us full but not overly full. My wife is vegetarian and they accommodated us by offering a variety of veggie sandwiches which were not on the menu. Very pleasant and polite staff in excellent surroundings and a very relaxed atmosphere. One of the... More

As i was my wife's 70th birthday, our two boys and their wives took the day off work and we spent most of the afternoon over a champagne lunch. The restaurant lacked atmosphere, which it would at that time on a Monday, but the food was good, the service was excellent and the venue is pretty good anyway. All in... More

Went as a couple. Tickton Grange itself is very nice and the restaurant itself is full of character if a little dark for my liking. Food is just OK. Not a very imaginative menu done to an acceptable standard. OK wine list and friendly service. Nothing wrong with Tickton Grange but that is part of the reason I will not... More
