Years have gone by !

Reading Almandras's review! Wow, brilliant, great that nothing has changed! My wife's Grand Parents (Cyril and Gertrude Taylor) virtually lived in The Trout - they lived in the Vicarage at Foston. Always had great "real food" - thank goodness nothing has changed - well done Keith !! We'll revisit... read more

Lunch today with the family, where we've been on a number of occasions - each time in family groups and have always been welcomed by Keith and his team. Some previous reviewers have commented that the bar is a little dated, ... and perhaps it is (But is is certainly clean and it is tidy!). Some have commented on the... More

A group of 12 (and a baby) ate Sunday lunch at this attractive village pub. Good pint of hand-pulled Theakstons from the bar. When our pre-booked table was ready for us we were shown into the restaurant having already selected our starters and mains whilst waiting in the lounge. Nice light room with a single table for all to sit... More

We recently visited the Trout inn during the Easter break, we were camping with my in-laws and decided to call in for a meal, were utterly sick of the chain 2 for £10 pubs and were craving a good home cooked fresh meal & that's exactly what we got. This is without doubt the best meal we have had in... More

The restaurant was comfortable the service pleasant . The food was different in that it appeared to be freshly cooked... More
