We tried this for the first time but it will not be the last. We were welcomed by friendly staff, served brilliant food from an excellent selection.

Booked to stay here for just a few night but wished we hadn't. We stayed upstairs in the garden rooms. The room was not clean and had a smell of damp dog about it. There was hair under the sheets on the bed, in the shower and basin. The carpet was dirty and the coffee maker was a lime scaled... More

Great location for New Forest. Stayed for a mini break in one of the garden rooms. Whilst cosy there is a lack of attention to cleanliness (soap wrapper on floor in bathroom left there after room supposedly cleaned, used toilet roll not replaced and sink not cleaned). Missing light bulb not replaced even though it was reported to staff. Breakfast... More

My wife and our 4 and 7 year old had lunch here. Although we came towards the end of the sitting and took our time (as can often be the case with young ones), our waitress was extremely helpful, patient and kind with our children. The menu was straightforward, and although there wasn't a separate kids menu this really wasn't... More

We stopped here midway through a long walk and had afternoon tea in the patio area. Normally we get really full up very quickly, however, although the amount of food was generous, it was also really light. We were definitely full when we finished but not stuffed. Both my partner and I agreed that the scones were probably the best... More

I popped in to this quaint looking restaurant hoping to make dinner reservations, alas they don't open for dinner which must be hugely frustrating for the guests nonetheless I stayed for afternoon tea as it looked like a lovely place to eat....how wrong can someone be? The food prices are what you would expect for a countryside restaurant but the... More

We arrived at 9pm on Friday and were called at 6pm to say the staff were going home and just call this number when we got through the M25 traffic. This we did and the owner drove to the hotel to greet us, a really nice young chap, who told us that him and his wife had taken over the... More

Went with my husband last weekend and it was lovely. He had a delicious cream tea and I had a tasty ploughmans- they didn't scrimp on the cheese like a lot of places and the cheese was a lovely strongish cheddar, not the tasteless plastic rubbish you get in a lot of places. My husband's cream tea was very good... More
