The Thatched Cottage Hotel and Restaurant looks very attractive---the clue is in the name. A sample menu also looked very good, so we decided to go for dinner. Note---they only open Wed. to Sun, so on the Tuesday evening we called and made a reservation for Wednesday evening, and left a contact phone number. When we arrived on time on... More

I introduced a friend to the Thatched Cottage and their afternoon tea and she was so impressed that she invited a group of us to join her there for a celebration. Everybody was enthusiastic and had high praise for this lovely Tea Room com Restaurant. Fresh soft bread with a good variety of fillings and the best scones I have... More

We had an overnight stay with cream tea, dinner and breakfast here. It is such lovely place a hidden gem in the new forest with a sweet little garden. Our room was great, both quaint and good quality with many thoughtful touches. All 3 meals were very good with everything home made and delicious. The owners and Alex were excellent,... More

A beautiful little thatch cottage, looking very inviting. However, the meal was very disappointing. We ordered soup of the day, leek and potato. The flavour was good however portions were small and the bread alongside, positively mean. Two small slices of ciabatta. For £5.50 I would expect so much more. It was a lovely sunny Sunday lunch time and there... More

This is most disappointing to hear. What a shame that you did not allow us the opportunity to rectify the problem for you at the time, rather than write such a review. When the staff did a 'check-back' to your table you said everything was fine- I can assure you no-one would have denied you extra bread had you asked... More

Great food and service from a place that's just opened... The menu was small but delicious, you could tell they have confidence I their dishes and are passionate about using good local food. The restaurant is super cute and has had a well needed makeover since I was here last! Ideal for a romantic meal or birthday booking which I've... More

Each time I have dined here the food has been presented beautifully and it tastes just as good!! The menu is mouth watering and the service we received was professional yet friendly and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff are so welcoming.
