Good food in great surrindings

The bar is very comfortable and offers some slightly different choices, for example try the Dorset Gin. The restaurant is in an orangery and is light and cheerful and retains the Pig's quirky character with lovely views. Food good as was the service and again local produce plus interesting... read more

We had lunch here on the way down to a holiday destination. It's not signed from the main road and the satnav takes you somewhere else so be warned! Having said that the entrance is clear so it really not a problem. We were lucky with the weather, although it never rains in the South anyway, so we were able... More

We were late booking so got the last sitting at 9.15, but it was 9.50 before we sat down. Very varied menu, almost spoilt for choice, but all courses took a long time to serve. Food was of a good standard but over priced. Same for the wine. The servers had disappeared by pudding time & we had to hunt... More

Despite arriving late for our booking towards the end of service, we were seated and were not made to feel rushed at all during our meal. Starters were very good, mains delicious, and desserts divine. But what makes The Pig so lovely are the surroundings, vast grounds and plenty of room to retire in comfort for a quick game of... had heard this was a "Must visit" in the area and boy are we glad we managed ot get the last table for a dinner seating this past Saturday night. The setting was just perfect, the ambiance relaxed but refined, the staff incredible and the attention to detail was noticeable. if you in the New Forest you have to make... More

A really super evening out. Friendly knowledgeable professional service, with great attention to detail. The staff really seem to care that you have a great time. Food we ate (Fish)was generous in portion and perfectly cooked. Some really nice additional touches. Don't miss the "tobacco onions"! Relaxing bar for before and/or after. Good wine list sensibly priced. Not cheap all... More

Lovely Old House with lots of quirky décor and service touches (wellies, rugs etc) We ate in the orangery/conservatory area - busy Saturday lunchtime but service was great. All food in guaranteed to be from no more than 25miles from the restaurant and lots of piggy food!! Also, there's a walled kitchen garden from which much of the food comes... More

Well worth the trip (check map before leaving as it's on the outskirts). Excellent food and wine list, knowledgeable and pleasant staff.

Came here with my boyfriend after being recommended. The place itself, the building & the gardens are breathtakingly beautiful. All the food is locally sourced or grown by them. My order was wrong & I was given the wrong main, however this dealt with very well by the team. We had 3 courses & it was all great (minus the... More

Arrived at hotel greeted by very friendly staff although seemed a little muddled. Shown to room which was beautiful although missing bar/snack menu which they said the would bring and never did! Had some lovely cocktails served by a very lovely young lady who seemed to know her stuff and a beautiful massage in potting shed, very cute. Dinner was... More
