Haven on a rainy day

We dropped in here on a rainy day, when our first choice of eatery was unfortunately closed. Staff were welcoming and helpful and even provided water for the dog. The food was hot, well cooked and tasty. We willl return.

Some places you visit are busy because of what they offer (food, service, comfort, a good view and so on) whilst others because of where they are- The Foresters Arms falls most definitely into the latter category. It has very much the look and feel of a “locals” pub and you can use the lounge or the saloon bar. It... More

Having spent a few months in the forest working it was nice to find such a great pub. Many have said here that it is a 'locals pub' which indeed it is. For me if there's locals in a pub it's going to be good, unfortunately these places don't survive just on tourist trade from March to September! If you... More

Roadside location near the station. The beer garden is a fenced off pavement area squeezed between the the side of the pub and the road. Atmosphere is road noise and fumes, cigarette smoke, clack-clack of pool, and cheers from the football supporters watching the TV. Friendly and down to earth, this is not a posh pub for special occasions, but... More

Lovely quaint pub with a lovely atmosphere. A relaxing stop off on our tour of the new forest. Within Walking distance to our bed and breakfast. Daisy Cottage. Seating outside so you can enjoy the morning or afternoon sunshine,

Rude and surely staff, pool table didn't work, only good thing was the free wifi, which has proven useful when writing this review

A friendly enough pub but that's it really. It's a bit ordinary but with an outside area, on a busy junction so that doesn't help. Fair selection of beers but not outstanding. Food basic pub grub that does the trick. Staff friendly and polite and the pub is dog friendly too. I think it's a locals pub, but it is... More
