Great food

Been to this restaurant a few times now as it is our local. They do a fantastic steak on the stone which is well worth a try. Had a starter which was a mistake because the main was huge!! Quick efficient service and lots of food to chose from on 3 different menus! Good value for money not pricey... read more

I found this restaurant which was almost next door to the b&b where I stayed, very convenient with a pleasant atmosphere. So it was on my doorstep so to speak. The food was good, the menu varied and the staff were friendly. I ate there a number of times during my 5 day stay in Brockenhurst. The atmosphere was pleasant... More

Went here last night as we were staying up the road and wanted a change of location for dinner! We were as others have said given three menus to chose from, and we all cross ordered from them, which was no problem. The pub was busy and lively, but service was attentive but not annoying! Our food was all cooked... More

We we're given 3 menus to choose from. They have a large choice of main courses but only a choice of 4 starters. Food was very basic and not good quality. My wife had rib eye steak which came on a hot stone so you cook it to your liking. Only trouble is that by the time you've eaten it... More

We went here for lunch to test it out for dinner whilst we stayed in Brockenhurst, history behind it was interesting and a good service but the food was very poor, we had mixed ploughman's and our son had a tuna mayo sandwich ...the food was bland and the bread was stale and then to top it off I found... We tried to get food in this pub on Sunday and Tuesday night. Sunday at 8.15 we were standing next to someone ordering food but we were told the kitchen was now shut as it was too busy. Tuesday we tried again at 8.30, again with someone ordering food at the bar, we were told the kitchen was closed because... More

Been here a couple of times before in 2011. Was in the area and we decided to visit again as we always had good food. The attraction of The Snakecatcher is the volcanic stone steaks. Extremely hot stone with steak that has been seared on one side. You cut chunks off and cook to your liking on the stone. Its... More

What a find, read mixed reviews on Facebook but wanted to give it a go. So glad we did the food was lovely , I had the hot stone mixed grill which consisted of lamb, sirloin and duck for you to cook to your requirements. My husband had the snakecatcher burger which was also good , and it was all... More
