What a find, read mixed reviews on Facebook but wanted to give it a go. So glad we did the food was lovely , I had the hot stone mixed grill which consisted of lamb, sirloin and duck for you to cook to your requirements. My husband had the snakecatcher burger which was also good , and it was all... read more

We enjoyed a nice meal here on a Monday early evening. The pub was comfortable shame the log burner wasn't burning on a cold winters evening. Good service from attentive staff, We were charged for a drink that we didn't have on our bill, however it was removed with apologies as soon as I noticed it Good variety of beers... More

Absolutely great food, lovely staff, no problems at all! Went on a whim because it was nearby and had the Snakecatcher burger, really tasty flame grilled beef and bacon with cheese and red pepper relish, so good in fact we came back the very next day so I could have the burger again! The only reason it only got 4... More

Visited with my family to have lunch and watch Southampton play football. Bar was somewhat cluttered with horrible top pressure pumps that meant you had to order food and drinks around them with little interaction with the bar staff. Need to loose those mosterous pumps. Plain simple menus ordered meat chicken and vegi burgers. Real ale and soft drinks for... More

We headed here for dinner on a Saturday night whilst staying in Lyndhurst as I had known the pub and its history many years ago. Although it was extremely busy we were able to find a table for 2 and placed our order. Whilst waiting I explored as it had changed since my last visit. I was extremely pleased that... More

While walking around Brockenhurst we stopped here for a drink, seduced by the name and history, unfortunately another old pub that has been updated inside, the drinks were fine, a nice friendly barman but nothing that tempted us to stay and try the food.

I was in the area for work and only stayed one night. Having been to the area before when I was much younger I remeber the pub well so decided to go here for my dinner and it was as expected! Nice beer, good friendly staff and your typical pub grub I had a cheese Burger, the portion size was... More

Selected pub for dinner based on good reviews - what a mistake. The quality of the food was below poor, service was average, venue was ok. Very disappointed. We had burgers (hard to get wrong) which were over cooked, chips that were undercooked, fish that wasn't fresh (incredible when so close to the sea), and fish pie had a minuscule... More
