Yum yum yum

The food at this place is lovely. It's cheap and cheerful. the staff are so friendly and helpful. The car park is quite big and I imagine this place to be rammed during the summer

We visited the Snake catcher on a Saturday lunchtime. It was really interesting reading the history of the pub and the local character after which it was named. Really friendly staff and good ales and wine. The food was first class although I did have to send my nachos back as the meat was only slightly warm. All other meals... More

I was attracted by the strange name, thinking it would be a unique village pub with history! We had an evening meal here during February half-term. We arrived early - between 6 and 7, and found a table no problem (several tables were reserved so arriving an hour later may have meant a wait for a table to be free?).... More

We dropped in here on our way home as it was right next to the station. We literally arrived 30 mins before our train after a giant disastrous bike ride where a punctured tire meant that we had had to miss lunch. We were starving so ordered 4 drinks and 4 chips, and explained that we needed to be on... More

We visited on a quiet Sunday evening, and what it lacked in atmosphere (not the pub's fault - it was an exceptionally cold night!), the employees made up for in service. The barmaid in particular was friendly and attentive. We had the surf and turf hot stone, which was delicious, although everything was already on the stone when it was... More

Had the surf and turf on hot stone- was amazing. You can cook the steak to exactly how you like it. Massive meal comes with loads of chips and a side such as mushrooms, veg or salad. Excellent quick service waiter was attentive and friendly. Defo recommend

My girlfriend and I visited this pub on Tuesday evening and enjoyed a very nice meal and watched football afterwards in comfort. Food was a standard price for a decent meal, about £10-£12. Only minor problem was that we couldn't have a hot drink after dinner as the machine was switched off.

It wasn't our pub of choice; we found it after the first one we went to turned out to be fully booked and the second wouldn't serve food until 6pm. I was very pleased we discovered the Snakecatcher though; it's a great place. The food is fantastic; my chicken wth goat cheese and pesto was delicious and my boyfriend's steak... More

Have visited twice now, first time ordered off the hot rocks menu and was fantastic to be able to cook my meat and fish how I like it. Second time ordered off the Normal Menu and again food was fantastic. Great size portions and reasonable price for a new forest restaurant. Atmosphere was good not too loud and service was... More

Only had a drink here, but pleasant enough and many tables eating food which looked good , esp the burgers. Looks refurbed and to a good standard. Handy for locality to where staying .
