Afternoon tea as it should be enjoyed

A wonderful place to enjoy a snack, or better still a full afternoon tea, at a table on the lawn enjoying the summer sunshine in Devon. The homemade food here is fantastic and it is well worth the trip out to visit the place. Nice local walk along hehe coast too to work up an appetite for tea!

You have to search to find the tea rooms, but it's well worth it! They are literally at the end of the road in Morwenstow, by the church (well, it's the old Rectory!). Very old and atmospheric and prettily done with old china and so on. Can get VERY busy! Walkers and travellers, lots of dogs, sometimes indoors too (but... More

This was our first visit and as we live in Launceston won't be our last!! Huge cream teas and delicious we will definitely be telling everyone one we know about this place. You could either sit inside or outside and as the weather was good yesterday quite a few walkers chose this option. Once we had eaten there were various... More

Not our first visit but as excellent as ever! On this occasion we just had a Cream Tea to give us the energy to walk the SW Coast Path and it was delicious - thoroughly recommended.

We just adore this amazing place. Sunday lunch here is a winner every time. Sadly last Sunday lunch I was taken ill, but Jill and her team were just fantastic and looked after us all so well. Thank you so much xxx

What a find! Beautiful setting, delightfully decorated tea rooms, lovely ambience & a full tea beyond words. The staff were very friendly & nothing was too much trouble, thank you so much, Jill & staff, for making my birthday so special. All 19 of us agree with these words! Some of us also did the circular walk beforehand, quite strenuous... More

The Rectory Tea Rooms in the little village of Morwenstow offer exceptional tasting cream teas, NOT quite as good as the best of the cream teas in DEVON, but very good all the same. These tea rooms are a perfect resting place when you have visited the cliff top Hawker's Hut ( National Trust, (but free) ). The pleasant easy... More
