Good for coffee, good for lunch

Coffee house, wine bar & bistro situated by the canal in Bude, a stone's throw from Summerleaze Beach. The canal basin is a delightful situation, and there are seats outside facing that way, as well as the inside coffee/wine lounge and restaurant conservatory area for dining, and a garden at the... read more

Booked a table on Saturday evening having walked past earlier in the day. very friendly young staff, food was superb - lamb in particular. Good choice of drinks - North Coast Cider was our drink of choice, dry and crisp. Booking recommended! We liked the place so much we went back for a coffee the following day while waiting for... lovely place i visit often when walking my dog on Bude beach, weather you just stop for a coffee or cream tea or a bite to eat, service is very good, food is even better and at a reasonable price, i recommend the homemade burgers with Stilton cheese, seating inside and out where you can watch the local anglers fish... I ate here with my husband on Saturday; it was busy but we managed to seat inside within five minutes. Husband chose burger, chips and a SOS (local) beer, and I had the king prawn linguini, and a white wine. Both meals were ample, freshly-cooked, and served with a smile. What more could you want! We returned the following day... More

We visited this restaurant twice while in Bude - once for afternoon tea (and scones) and secondly on a Saturday night for dinner. Both times, we had a great reception from the young and helpful staff. The place itself is right near a canal, so quite picturesque, and has a modern vibe to it. The scones - with cream and... More

This was a very pleasant venue, the staff were all very friendly and the service was excellent. The food on the other hand was over priced. A very small ploughmans for £8.50 , and kids basic pasta which was so bland and had no flavour at all - that was £6.50!! The sandwiches were the best item in the menu.... More

We went for the valentine evening menu, lovely. Great choices, friendly confident service. Tables not cramped on top of each other. Why haven't we been before!

After a run along the canal and around the cycleway to Whalesborough farm, the Olive Tree provided a great little brunch stop. Absolutely top-drawer mackerel on toast with aioli was just what I needed. I'd recommend this place in Bude to any visitor.
