The bar staff who also serve the food were always helpful and friendly, going out of their way to provide local information for us. The food is good quality and tasty.

We stayed at a local b&b for two nights at the weekend and ate both nights at the crown hotel. We enjoyed the food and my hubby chatted away at the bar about fishing. Friendly, organised and attentive staff. Busy pub but we would make an effort to visit when we stay locally again in the year and advise others... More

Visited this pub on Saturday with my mother and it started off so well young girl from Glasgow singing good music but it all went down hill from there! Two girls got up to dance only to be refused by I think the bar manager! Then a group of men who where sat in the corner started to dance in... More

Dear Paulelle88, Thank you for taking the time to write a review, I am disappointed that you felt it necessary to leave, everyone else were happy enough to stay and had a great evening. As much as you may have been entertained by the antics of the stag party, the singer was not as they repeatedly knocked into her sound... More

We visited Callender on a Saturday lunchtime and decided to eat at the Crown, based on the outside menu board. It was friendly and welcoming, although the interior was not what we expected. We all had the home made Leek and Potato soup, and were not disappointed! Possibly the best I have ever tasted! My husband had macaroni cheese, I... More

The owner of the hotel where we were staying recommended it to us (two adults and three children) .Frienly atmosphere. The menu was very varied ( starters, main, desserts, a selection of hamburguers for children).Hamburguers for the girls and blackb pudding and mushroooms for us as starters, then a venisom casserole and salmon. Everythig was delicious. The waiter was very... More

Had a lovely meal here on a Saturday evening. The venison casserole I had was excellent. The pub had seemed quite modern when we popped in the day before and we were surprised how different it felt when it was full of diners. Live music too.

Called in for lunch but were disappointed that there was little on the menu for a light lunch however we opted for starters, bowl of soup and bread and Chicken strips which were huge and value for money but a little greasy, with so many places to eat in Callander was surprised that they didn't cater much for the lighter...
