We held my mum's 90th birthday party here at the beginning of November and it was faultless. The staff could not do enough for us. The food was magnificent and they produced everything I asked for. A constant supply of tea and coffee. We never felt rushed and mum loved every minute of it. The lemon drizzle and Victoria sandwich... More

My daughter and I recently made a spur of the moment, Sunday afternoon visit to Babbinis, thinking it closed at 5. We arrived at 3.45 and discovered it actually closed at 4; however, we were made so welcome by the Babbinis and assured that it wasn't a problem because they would be doing 'bits and pieces' for a while yet.... Just returned from Babbinis Tearoom in Abbotskerswell, its a lovely quaint little village! I had to treat myself to a Babbinis full breakfast, which didn't disappoint!! The hash browns are homemade with a touch of cheese- amazing! I even asked the chef where he bought his sausages as they where delicious! They are locally sourced of course as are most... More

Had a super Sunday roast with a friend here. Everything was spot on and we were offered extra gravy and veg too. Had a lovely creme brûlée to finish. Will definitely go back, the service was great and it was all very good value.

I had the exclusive use of the restaurant for the evening of my birthday. 24 of us sat down to a three course meal with a Cornish theme. The ham terrine and the smoked trout were excellent but the pastie and the stargazy pie were to die for. Puds were super too. Well done Kevin and Sam. All my guests... More

Had Sunday lunch with family. Very very good food. The whole family really enjoyed themselves. Staff were excellent and attentive. Will definitely call again - may be for a steak next time.

Two of us visited Babbini's for afternoon tea after hearing about it on the local grapevine. We had 'cake of the day' (a fabulous lemon sponge served up with cream and a garnish of fruit pieces) which came with either tea or coffee as a special offer and was absolutely delicious. We sat on a leather sofa propped up with... More

Wonderful little quirky place, set in pretty village. The service was outstanding, we went with my Grandmother (grumpy at the best of time) they helped her decided, give us delightful service very accommodating. We were all very pleased with our food and even our grandmother was delighted. Have been back since and still the same level of outstanding service.

Went to the Italian night. The beef was beautifully cooked and the vegetables superb as usual. The tiramisu was to die for - very light and lovely flavours. Well done Kevin! The previous review is a total travesty. Kevin has never had a carvery and his meals are always full of the most delicious blend of flavours. Those who write... More

“Many thanks for your kind review of our monthly speciality evening. We always strive to create something unique on these occasions. These popular nights, based on a single country’s traditional dishes, allow us to create a menu that is not only different but also challenges and motivates us to use our culinary skills. This is allied, of course, to our... More

Although the service is good the food is extremely bland. Decor needs improving e.g. carpet held together with adhesive tape. Avoid the carvery which looked and tasted anything but home cooked. Cheesecake watery and tasteless.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We are a family run business and pride ourselves on creating fresh home cooked food presented with a friendly and welcoming service. However I am baffled by the review because we have NEVER offered a carvery option to our customers. Our business relies heavily on repeat custom drawn by our... More
