A group of us went to Rio last night for a meal. We pre-ordered our food and have to say the service and the food was excellent. Check backs were done frequently giving people the opportunity to order more drinks of required. I had the loaded potato skins to start, with the BBQ Chicken New Yorker as main. Both dishes... More

Me and my boyfriend thought we would try here and as a result we found it to be well over priced for the quilty of the food! Also we hadn't even finished our starter and they had brought the main out without checking if we had finished our starter first! Never have I had a restaurant bring the main out... More

After reading the reviews I was expecting a little better. Although it was early evening, the service was very slow. Nacho's to start were OK, nothing to write home about. Ordered burgers for us both, one was a special off the board was missing the onion ring and had a different relish/topping to what was on the board/expected. I didn't... More

I have visited this restaurant several times, both at lunchtime and in the evening. Although the food is usually ok I always find the service very slow. The last time I visited we waited so long for our drinks that we had to find a waitress to ask where they were, then our food still arrived before the drinks. Shame... More

We decided to try this restaurant as my daughter loves Mexican food and we were celebrating the fact she had passed her driving test. I have to say in the beginning the service was good and the meal came out in a reasonable time, however when I order crispy belly pork this is what I expect to have. Instead I... More

i was hoping this restaurant would live up to its name, branding and decor especially as it is fairly local to us and comes with easy parking in Asda car park opposite. However...... The food badly let the whole experience down. The plates were piled high but the quality of the food was very poor. The nachos were more like... More

Went here for a hot drink and a rest. Charming place, with good service. Very nice capicino, good value for money. Will definitely return very soon.

A mixed review really. The portions were large and looked great but when it came to the taste, it was rather average and I expected more. For example, when something is spicy in a 'Mexican' restaurant you expect flavours of habanero or at least fresh chilli- but those flavours weren't there. Instead, I could taste chilli powder leaving an overall... More

We went for a meal tonight and were served by a balding middle aged man who looks like Max Branning, but was very attentive and the food was excellent. Recommended!

I live in the local area and recently took a trip into Newton Abbot. After browsing a few shops in the town center we stumbled upon 'Rio Grande' and thought we'd give it a try. What a lovely surprise! The staff were extremely attentive; taking orders at the table when you usually are required to walk to the bar, as... More
