An excellent evening with a wonderful meal we had fillet steak superb , the wine was as good as it gets as were the coffees, I do not eat sweet as a rule but my wife was rather disappointed with hers, but it did not spoil the evening still recommended

We had a very enjoyable evening where the attention to detail by the friendly staff was wonderful. I really hate pompous service but I like being cared for and they did this beautifully. The food & wine were excellent, this restaurant is tucked away and a little gem.

Eight of us went today, from the moment we arrived until the moment we left we were looked after perfectly. Today was a set menu and fantastic value at £12.95 for 2 courses or £16.95 for 3 for quality food presented very well, we all made different choices and all were delicious with 8 clean plates (and that wasn't because... The Thatched Cottage ten years on is still the best in the area of newton abbot/kingsteignton Friendly service reasonable prices sort of place you can go to for an anniversary or just a happy meal out. Prices are £ 30 -40 pp with wine .Ambience is great no loud musak blaring at you. Chris and Peter make you very welcome.

A lovely old restaurant. The meals are excellent and superbly presented with a very varied menu. The attention received from the proprietor and staff is very friendly and they cannot do enough to make sure that you enjoy your meal. The restaurant is in a quiet area of Kingsteignton but well worth a visit when you are in the area.

I visited this restaurant for the first time and have to say the food, service and ambiance was excellent. Great value for money with a delicious, 5 star menu. There was something to suit every taste. The owner and staff made our evening totally pleasurable and thought of everything to make our meal perfect. I'll be going again.
