We didnt eat here as it was a quick stop before walking the coastal path. The Thatched Cottage is beautiful & idyllic with a quirky garden. Inside was traditional with a big fireplace. I would like to try their food when we visit devon. Although its down country lanes there is public parking at a cost of £1 until 17:30... More

We went for Sunday lunch as we had a near by meeting, trusting to the reviews. It was a massive disappointment, the building is in the middle of a housing estate and clearly had seen better times, the welcome was enthusiastic if not professional and that thought echoed through the meal. The maitre d or owner insisted in calling me... More

Our first visit and as a family venture we were so well received by our host, we sat and chatted in the garden before going in for lunch and were kept refreshed with drinks, lovely. We had tables set out at the top end of the restaurant and the service was impeccable on the drinks, food and clearing by the... More

We were full of high hopes- went for dinner for our anniversary so wanted to go somewhere different - lovely old thatched building- cosy inside ( a little dated). 'amuse bouche' was salmon mousse with wasabi dressing - could not taste wasabi at all- more like mayonnaise, but OK. I had scallops with pea puree and bacon (which was hard... More

An excellent evening with a wonderful meal we had fillet steak superb , the wine was as good as it gets as were the coffees, I do not eat sweet as a rule but my wife was rather disappointed with hers, but it did not spoil the evening still recommended

We had a very enjoyable evening where the attention to detail by the friendly staff was wonderful. I really hate pompous service but I like being cared for and they did this beautifully. The food & wine were excellent, this restaurant is tucked away and a little gem.
