Beautiful Family Meal

We've been here 3 times in the past year and it's so nice, the last time I took my mum and daughter for lunch and we sat in the lovely little bar area as the other side was fully booked but we found that it was even nicer..The menu is very nice and the food is stunning..can't fault it. We'd booked our table for two a few days before and arrived a little before 1900h. The car park wasn't very full but inside there were a fair amount of diners who had had their meals and were settled in. On arrival we were shown to our table and were greeted by attentive staff members. There were generally three in... More

We had a table booked for 7.15 last Thursday 12 February and arrived promptly. We were greeted and shown to our table but had not even got our coats off when asked if we had decided what we wanted to drink. Our food arrived quite quickly and was really lovely and good value for money. However as other people were... More

many pub menus get away with mass produced food and frequently dress it up as home made...but here, as far as I can make out, its true. Went for lunch today with a friend who recommended the steak and kidney pudding. This dish is one of my all time favourites and, something I make. I have had some appalling examples... More

Nothing pretentious about this pub. We're almost regulars, and have yet to be disappointed. Food is consistently good, delivered by efficient and friendly staff. We often take friends and family, our friends from overseas think it's great; and that all goes to making life for us that much easier, no worrying about where to take people.

All in all everything was fine. We arrived and was shown to our table which was in the higher part of the pub. The room was chilly and not quite as comfortable as we would have liked. There are heaters there but the evening was a colder one and therefore a little thought about this fact may well have made... More

Stopped here on the way to a break in totnes . The food is very good with impressive portions especially my daughters lasagne which was excellent for a child's portion. What really impressed me however were the three ladies working . Polite , friendly and efficient even in the face of my lovable but extremely loud daughters . Thanks very... More

Three of us visited for lunch. One thought he was having a sausage baguette but a sandwich turned up - not too much of a problem. Two of us had jacket potatoes and they were ok - no more than that. What really annoyed me was the desserts that two of us had - Raspberry Trifle. Desserts here are expensive... More

Had a great meal here today. Group of five of us visited here after reading good reviews & sure wasn't disappointed. All of us finished our meals which is a rarity when dining out with the in-laws, so this is a massive recommendation in itself ! Good friendly service as well which made for a very pleasant experience, highly recommended,... More
