The Rising Sun has a great ambience - the staff are welcoming, the décor attractive without being self-consciously trendy and the food is excellent. We had a great evening.

A hidden gem. Both my parents and I had a fantastic meal at this village pub. I had the Haddock and Chips with a pea puree. The presentation of the food was so appealing, the Chef obviously takes pride in producing excellent food for the customers. Giles and Family offer a fun and friendly atmosphere, we will definatly be back!!... More

The food was really restaurant standard, beautiful and delicious! It has the proper atmosphere of a village pub but superb food as well! The staff were friendly and helpful. I had the lemon sole and then sticky toffee pudding - both very tasty. Definitely going back for another meal.

Just come back from having a fab lunch at the Rising Sun. Haddock & chips with pea puree followed by creme brûlée. Ate every scrap! Very warm & cosy with modern touches. The staff were very welcoming. Definitely worth a visit.

We decided to visit this pub as we had heard some very good reviews, reasonable priced beers & great food. Lovely Village pub atmosphere, food was very good, staff very friendly. The food was superbly presented & to a high standard, we have found cheaper elsewhere, however this was good value for money and worth paying the extra for. Landlord... More

Used to frequent The Rising Sun a few years ago , but the standards had dropped . Had heard that the new management had turned it round , who I believe , have been there now , over 2 years . So thought it was time to visit again , and aren't we glad we did . We started off... More

I recently shared a treat with my Wife and walked down to our local Pub - The Rising Sun where we both had a very pleasant meal and I can recommend the Scallops for the starter course and not just for their aphrodisiac qualities. The Pub has always been a friendly place and it is nice to see it doing... More

I rarely respond to a review unless something needs sorting but being seen as the oldest landlord in the UK is a title that I cannot yet claim. The man that has the Muddled Man near Yeovil is many years my senior. And anyone customer that mentions Muttley is in for a serious talking to......!!! Glad you enjoyed eating at... More

Probably one of the best Sunday lunches I have ever had. Food was delicious, my only qualm would be that there wasn't enough of it- particularly the vegetables, but maybe we were just enjoying them too much! Will definitely return.

Dined here a few times and although the menu is small the food is excellent as it is cooked fresh. The presentation is much better than the usual pub fare.
