A hidden gem of a place

We were recommended this place by the landlady of another great little pub and came for dinner for my birthday. We were not disappointed. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. I had scallops, then pork belly (best I've ever had with loads of juicy pork as well as crunchy cracking) and... read more

The chef should be CONGRATULATED for EXCELLENT food and presentation. THANK YOU so much to Giles the landlord and his staff for making our first visit very memorable. We will be back... More

Amazing place in the small very village of Christian Malford. Great food and great service. If you speak French, don't hesitate to mention it. I'll definitely go there again if I'm in the neighborhood

Giles the landlord is a very good host and his staff are friendly and helpful. The service is excellent and the food quality superb. The Rising Sun... More

Although having eaten evening meals here previously, this was our first experience of Sunday lunch and it was a good one. My lamb roast was delicious, and my wife and son enjoyed their pork roasts. Glad to see lunch is just as good as dinner. And nice to see too that they know how to serve a nice pint of... More

We met friends here for lunch and were not disappointed. The battered fish was lovely and crisp. My husband loved the pork and apple burger too. The service was friendly and efficient. We didn't have time to stay for puddings but will definitely be back to try them out.

Giles, the landlord makes for great company, whilst the chef should be applauded for fantastic food. My partner assures me... More

This is a beautiful pub with a posh/rustic feel that immediately makes you feel comfortable. We were warmly welcomed by Giles & Angus Black and we quickly settled into the relaxed and friendly character of the pub. The flavoursome food was elegantly presented and top-notch quality.
