Anniversary Meal - and a Lovely Surprise!

On booking we were asked if the meal was a celebration, and, unexpectedly, at the end of the meal the lights were dimmed and Cliff Richard's 'Celebration' was played on the sound system - and they walked down the restaurant to our table with sparklers. We felt if we were imposing on a private club. They obviously have their favourite regular clients which was very apparent during our visit. The food was ok but without much imagination. Having visited the restaurant before the main difference was the prices had increased and the size of the meals decreased. First time I have left an Italian restaurant... More

We were warmly welcomed and looked after for the entire meal despite being a party of eight and booking rather late. The food was good traditional British Italian restaurant with a good range of choices but maybe lacked anything particularly original or any interesting seafood to reflect its location on the coast. But overall we had a very enjoyable meal... More

This is my favourite restaurant to eat at. The staff are so friendly always and very attentive. The food is fantastic value for money as it is superb food. I have never had a bad meal here and it is always such a lovely atmosphere. A top family favourite place to eat.

Four of us visiting the area had dinner here. Food and drink were ok albeit somewhat bland. Draught beer was Becks Vier - German. Italian beers - Peroni, Moretti, or Poretti - would be a better choice. The Italian wine we had (£20 bottle) was bland; no after taste at all. My wife had veal and wanted spaghetti AND vegetables... My wife and I used to eat here when first 'going out' back in the late 1970s. We have been back a couple of times since when on holiday in the area and every time the food has been superb. The same people still run it and it looks much the same as it did all those years ago. Very... More

I went to La mamma with family friends on a busy Saturday night. Our table was not ready but rather than seating us on one of the vacant tables even temporarily we had to stand and wait-I was not impressed as elderly people were in our group but the staff were amazing after that. We were then told that they... More

had a great night to celebrate a birthday. Food and staff were excellent however it was a little crowded making things a little tight for room which is the only reason I didn't give this restaurant an excellent rating. We will be visiting again.
