Great little pub with amazing history still very evident in the building and atmosphere. Food is always good - even just chips :) Staff always happy to serve even under pressure. Great place to have a snack if you are out walking your dog as it has good outside space,

We were looking in Christchurch for a dog friendly place to have lunch and a google search led us here and they certainly didn't disappoint. The service was friendly and quick even though it was a Saturday and they were quite busy. The meal we chose was a chilli nacho platter for 2, it was huge, extremely tasty with proper... More

Family friendly and good menu. I had a good burger. Good food served well and a interesting setting. Was happy with ape crumble - and our 4 year old enjoyed the accompanying ice cream - obligingly served on a separate plate!

Being a northern (UK) I like my pies and consider myself to be a connoisseur. I have to say, Ye Old George Inn, served up one of the finest pies I have ever eaten. Aside my pie fettish, the service and friendless was excellent. I would travel out of my way for food of this quality.

This was our second Christmas Day meal at The George and it was even better than the first! It wasn't in the main pub but in a large room at the back of the courtyard. Our table was right next to the door which could've been a problem on a colder day. It was wide open most of the time... More

For the first time ever we decided to go out Xmass day for lunch,so we decided upon The George as their Carvery is normally superb, but were still apprehensive that it would all go well.. We needn't have worried as it was excellent, from the minute we walked in to be greeted by the helpful friendly staff to being seated at our... More

We regularly go to the George for a meal whether it be in the week or weekend but we always try and go most Sundays as their Carvery is amazing! you always get a choice of meats and a wide selection of fresh veg, pigs in blankets etc and we find it very reasonable at £9.95 compared to other places... Only visited as a convenient place to meet friends but will certainly go back next time we're in Christchurch. Very nice pub with a good range of beers and the staff seemed very friendly. There's a courtyard area with seating that would be lovely in Summer and there's a function room for live music. We didn't try the food but... More

we visited this pub last year on the way to visit friends in Bournemouth and my...what a difference a year makes! Food was hot. That's the only positive I could find. The rest was pretty boring and not seasoned well. They used to have a chef from Australia (weird for an old fashioned english pub!) and the food then was... More

We had lovely beer (Estrella Damm, not often on tap outside of Barcelona) and some Piddle ales accompanied by tasty food. Fantastic moules marinieres and huge hamburgers. However a very strange occurrence happened at the end of our meal, my friend's half-full pint glass was hurled into the air from the centre of the table onto the floor. I don't... More
