Lovely Courtyard

We ate lunch in this lovely secluded courtyard at the George. The service was good, and I liked the table numbers being rolling pins! The food was good and the selection of pies unusual- especially one containing Stilton. The attention to the past was very good, and we found the information... read more

Been there several times for a pint and now decided to have an evening meal... Ordered the pie chips and peas.. But no peas came with the meal... this not mentioned when ordered, no alternative offered but the annoying thing was that no discount was offered!!....out of order I think..

It's a really friendly traditional pub serving well-kept real ale. We went for an after-dinner drink and found Zoe Scwhartz and band playing. They were terrific and it's a lovely little bar/function room at the back of the courtyard. A really relaxing evening.

We decided to visit after a day around Christchurch. We were very dissapointed. We decided to have the carvery. The beef was as tough as you could get .All veg was either cold or burnt and served luke warm. The drinks ordered were warmer than the food.Despite complaining the staff did not come back to us at all. This took the edge off a... If you're visiting Christchurch, you just have to try Ye Olde George Inn!!!! This Georgian pub is Oozing with history, great food and an assortment of real Ales, cider and wine. The courtyard is picturesque and the staff were very friendly. Great character, I would highly recommend this place.

A fascinating look back in time of smugglers, kings and queens to wet your appetite whilst sampling the real ales on offer. Very friendly staff and a scrummy menu of homemade pies to suit all tastes. A real find.

Just down near the priory is this wonderful quirky small pub. Visited for a brief lunch and the ales and ambiance are well matched. You must try one of their signature Pie n mash dishes (almost as yummy as the bar man!)

Four of us stopped by for a drink and a snack. We had a couple portions of chips - which were excellent. friendly staff who we had a laugh with. When we mentioned where we'd been to one of the chaps on the Christchurch ferry, he said we must try the chips there.

We sat in the court yard in the sun which was nice . We ordered 4 meals at £10 each burgers and gammon but we're sadly disappointed the gammon was like eating concrete and the burgers weren't much better . What a shame as we had previously eaten here , maybe we were just unlucky as they were so busy... More

It was certainly a good move that our table was booked well in advance as this pub/restaurant was packed.. Our table was on the cramped side, but then again it isn't overly big in the pub.. The menu was ok, nothing apexial. I ordered the fish and chips - the fish was lovely but the chips not so The service... More
