Today whilst out for the day with the family we decided to stop here for lunch as it seemed like a nice place and had good seating outside as we had the dog with us. To start off with the service wasn't very great as the barman was arrogant and seemed to have no people skills what so ever. We... More

Called in for evening meal last week with my partner. Not very hungry so just had cheddar ploughmans. Nothing special, crusty bread, cheddar, pickle, apple, spring onion, celery, tomato and lettuce/watercress. Quirky pub with nice courtyard. Could be an asset to Christchurch if they put more effort in.

My wife, my mum and I paid a visit to 'ye olde George Inn' whilst on a day trip to Christchurch. The inside of this pub was very dark so we decided to sit out in the courtyard as it was nice and sunny. After looking at the overpriced menu my wife and I chose a portion of chips each... More

Come on guys its pork, you need to be more carefull on what your serving, prawn whiskers in the food that does not contain prawns, what if someone has a seafood allergy? Service was good and polite, Prices are overcharged for the food you get. Not surprised you pay first!

Great food, great staff and lovely atmosphere. We booked at the last minute as I'm not organised but the whole evening was fantastic. It was my partners birthday and she was so happy at the end of the evening that we chose here to spend our time.

Called in here for last drinks before returning to our hotel. The late evening was warm and we were able to sit outside and relax. The inn is a really great place. It feels like you've been taken back to the 16th Century with the great atmosphere and the pubs interior. Had we have stayed in Christchurch itself, this would... More

after spending the week in Christchurch we spent our last full day looking around the shops, and walking by the river, then we had a lovely lunch at the George, with a glass of cider, meal was lovely, staff were very pleasant, and give us good service. A lovely last day for a lovely holiday.

Had dinner with some friends ordered the soup of the day which I was told was to be summer vegetable but turned out to be some kind of fish chowder. Med rare sirloin was to follow but the meat was tough and poor quality and very overcooked, a sentiment voiced by the others I was with. Creme brulee next should... More

Ambience of old Coaching Inn - very small and fairly cramped. Absolutely packed when we went, although time of service was pretty good. Had run out of one of the specials by 7.30pm which didn't think was very good. Had tried to be a little more adventurous with specials, which were quite reasonable. Food was hot, and came in good... Hade Whitebait and baguettes, frankly quite good. Slasher ale was cloudy and off so I asked to change to Becks. Barman had the cheek to ask for another 25p. Later on I saw more cloudy pints going past on other customers' trays, really the beer should have been taken off. One other tip... Buy a Karcher and jet the courtyard,... More
