Dave and Joe make this place! Great quality of food and service. Always great, may even get a magic trick if you're lucky!

I moved from the East Midlands in 2013 and still can't find a fish & chip shop to rival one I left where I could get a whale size piece of tasty Haddock or Cod with standard chips for £5. When I go back there the price had still not changed nor has the quality. BUT, Browns are the nearest... More

I have only ever had fish & chips from the takeaway, i am yet to try the restaurant. In all the years i have been going, the fish and chips have been great, service good and prices reasonable. Highly recommended.

Not only is the food excellent but service is given with a smile and, if you're lucky, you might even get a magic trick or two :) The menu is impressively varied - they put real effort into making sure they cater to everyone, despite being a fish 'n' chip place at the core. Pretty cool to be able to... More

Very good takeaway fish n’ chips or sit down in the small café and have a small fish n chips, mushy peas, bread and pot of tea for £5.25! They also have a sandwich bar next door.

By far our favourite chippy in the area: delicious and freshly-cooked fish & chips, served with smiles, even on busy Friday nights. Well-priced too. We probably buy from here 20+ times a year, which speaks for itself. Hint: ask for the free slices of lemon!

Brown's fish and chips is wonderful! As a coeliac it's really hard to find places where I can eat without worrying that gluten will find its' way into my meal; I feel a hundred percent confident every time I eat here knowing my food is prepared and cooked separately. Everything is delicious and presented beautifully, there are a variety of... More

I used this place when bunking off school dinners in the 1970s. Different owners, different style, better food now, customer service good and very nice atmosphere. Haddock excellent, chips great, portions huge. Menu huge, but as the title says dreadful mushy peas, more like runny processed peas.

By the side of the council estate , sometimes parking available in front of shops Had to wait a while but that's because it's cooked to order ( 4 people in front of me ) as it was lunchtime I was thinking hope this will be worth the wait.... Well sorry not the best but if I just had chips... More

This is quite simply the best fish and chips. I usually have a home made fish cake which trumps all other fish cakes! There is a wide range of food to order, it is very efficiently run and employs excellent staff! Add to this that they do delicious mushy peas and regularly stock Dandelion and burdock cans makes this a... More
