Delicious and excellent value

Visited for Sunday Lunch. Friendly and helpful staff, clean and fresh surroundings. We had 4 2- course Sunday lunches, plenty of choice on the menu. Food was fresh, hot and served with a smile. Will definitely recommend and visit again.

I guess, when you move to an area, you tend to have high expectations of what to find. Sometimes those expectations can be dashed. We bought our house because it had a pub at the end of our street (hurrah). Having been to the Galleon a few times now I can make a few valid points about the place in... More

Terrible service, waited for ages before being given a menu or offered a drink. Awful for vegetarians. Food absolutely tasteless, mass produced and over cooked. Chips were still frozen, bread stale, pasta cooked within an inch of its life and coffee that tasted like hot water. We went here for a 70th birthday party and it absolutely ruined it. The... More

Great value Sunday Lunch in this lovely gastro pub. There were nine of us, each with different requirements. All were looked after (vegetarian, nut allergy). Excellent service and food. Splendid walks nearby.

I wasn't keen on the place itself as it lacked any atmosphere. It's not a traditional pub inside, but neither has it been done out very imaginatively, so you're left feeling you're in some sort of diner. The food was OK, but a bit expensive for what it was

Popular with families and friends alike; can be a little boistrous at times. However, attentive staff and good value food with plenty of hearty vegetables and crunchy Pork crackling served on warm plates.

A large group of us ate here Sunday lunchtime to celebrate a family birthday . The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble . The menu had a good choice of starters and mains , the roasts were very popular with our party . Starters looked nice and were very tasty . The roast beef, pork and... More

We were a party of 9 On a busy Saturday evening. Service was excellent and they offer bottles of nice wine for £9.99 ! Our food was plentiful and hot. I had homemade soup - the best I have had in a restaurant, followed by chicken breast stuffed with brie and wrapped in Parma ham in a delicious sauce. Despite... More

What a disappointment. Went there on a curry night. Two for the price of one. Shocking. Was just like a cheap supermarket ready meal. Had to be reheated as only the plate was hot. Very cold in the restaurant, saw one lady put a coat round her shoulders and I was shivering too. Such an impressive entrance but being impressed... More
