Friendly atmosphere and good food in a cosy, homely and relaxing restaurant

Relaxed friendly service and highly appetising food and drinks in this charming old restaurant (in bygone times a place where lepers were cared for, according to a charming, helpful waitress). I don't know where the good reviews are coming from for this place but when we visited whilst on holiday the food was appalling. We ordered 2 beer battered fish and chips thinking it would be the old fashioned home made chips - what we got was batter that was so thick there was only a small piece of fish... More

This is a nice little restaurant in the centre of town in Christchurch. Decor is quirky and fun, the staff are exceptionally friendly and attentive, and the food was really very good. At the time of writing, great savings to be made if you have a Tastecard. Will return...!!

We wondered why our food wasn't very quick - when we climbed the castle behind and looked down, you could see staff taking regular quick smokes and throwing cigarette ends over the fence onto the pile of rubbish already there. All the other premises that back onto the English Heritage site were very tidy, but along this fence there is... More

We often visit for breakfast as they do a delicious and generous stack of American pancakes with fruit and syrup, some of the best that I've tried in the Bournemouth/Christchurch/Poole area! My partner often has a sausage or bacon sandwich and his only criticism is more sausage or bacon as compared to the doorstop bread it can sometimes seem a... More

The prawn risotto is excellent and I also love their burgers with goats cheese. I like this restaurant and their desserts, especially the cheese cake. There are books placed around for reading which adds a nice touch when popping in for coffee.

Have only been here for breakfast, have tried the eggs royale and thd pancakes with fruit. Both really nice but royale a little over priced, pancakes are awesome! Coffee is also pleasant, not been here in awhile but will be returning soon.

Visited with a group of friends and took advantage of the two for the price of one burger night which is great value. Booked online which was straight forward and convenient. We loved the relaxed atmosphere and the selection of puds on offer was great! We all had something different and all enjoyed our food- one small comment would be... More

I just liked this place. I liked the staff, the menu, and the way it is decorated. The tea was lovely and the salad divine, and the chips were lovely. I cannot fault it.
