Cosy, great food if a little heavy on the bread

Had a fantastic breakfast in Cheese and Aflies. The eggs Benedict were really well cooked and the hollondaise sauce was very good. Bit disappointed to pay £2.00 for a sausage that wasn't even the size of what I would call a 'normal' sausage. The toast was a big doorstop size of bread which was... read more

Cheese and Alfies was recommended by a friend because of the good range of vegetarian food. We both choose the daily special -broccoli and stilton soup with ham and mustard mayo sarnie on Granary bread. The staff were very accomodating and offered suggestions for a vegetarian sandwich option. My sister in law went for cheese and chilli jam. The soup was... More

had breakfast in this cafe on two occasions. Breakfast was typically served in a pan and was good. Two minor issues noted - on the first occasion, they served white bread despite I clearly asked for brown bread. On the second occasion, chef forgot to serve black pudding although black pudding was included in the menu. Otherwise nice and quaint... More

Tables spread over 2 floors. Good food and service. Wide choice of menu and drinks all reasonably priced.Retro decoration with some hard wooden seats which become uncomfortable if sat for any length of time. Some tables upstairs overlook the High Street, where it is nice to relax watching the hustle and bustle below.

Visited yesterday with a friend while shopping in Christchurch. A quirky little place with lots of clutter – boxes of fruit and veg by the till, piles of books, a rusted crate of Coca-Cola bottles, A row of old teapots and lots of slogans on the walls. There was free Wi-Fi and daily newspapers to read. Very child friendly with... More

Food below parr and service even worse. Not worth a visit. Evening meal rushed to order and eat!!!! Due to big party upstairs. Staff and kitchen clearly couldn't cope!! Not up to the standard achieved in the past.

The supplier had let the restaurant down so no fish and no pasta!! A poor start as this reduced the choice considerably. The food we had was extremely poor being tasteless and in some cases undercooked which made it inedible, we decided not to have this cooked or replaced as it would have made no difference to the overall quality.... We chose this for breakfast after reading reviews and viewing the menu. It's a really sweet, quirky cafe bistro with a lovely, young, smiley staff! The food was really delicious! I had a veggie pan which was huge and thoroughly gorgeous- very tasty. My husband had the eggs benedict which looked great and he ate every bit!( and the last... More

We visited for burger evening last Wednesday, the restaurant was busy upon arrival however were shown to a lovely table in the window by the young, yet professional waiter. The service was very good wiith only a short wait on food and burgers were great. The waiter was attentive, polite and nothing was too much to ask; he recommended the... More
