went here whilst visiting the area for a week and after looking on trip advisor and finding it was only 2 minutes down the road decided to give it go and we were not disappointed. the food was amazing, excellent quality and large portions. and we were very pleased with the price. would love to go again, just a shame... I visited this restaurant for the first time on a saturday evening with my family. We booked a table in advance after reading previous reviews on tripadvisor that booking was essential and thank goodness we did though it wasnt full when we arrived it soon became busy. We arrived a bit early but we were still made to feel really... More

This little family run restaurant hits all the spots for us. We were warmly received & taken to our pre-booked table (essential) & assisted with the choices of menu. The food preparation & presentation were of the highest quality & the whole evening was a delight. It will be top of our list when we are in the area again.

Wanted to eat here over Easter but it was closed Sunday AND Monday - poor show. Plenty of holidaymakers around despite the cold weather.

When we were in this area, we decided to go to Similan Thai after reading Trip Advisor and we were certainly not disappointed! Not being local, we presumed the restaurnat to be in the central town of Christchurch so when our sat-nav sent us away from the centre, we were a little worried, but after 10 mintues of driving, we... Having honeymooned in Thailand many years ago, and a lover of Thai food, this is the real deal, the flavours 100% authentic and fresh, the Tom Yung Goong was stunning, Pad Thai lovely too. They will turn down the spices if you ask them to, but worth tring "the way they like to cook it". Starters, soups, mains, dessert and... More

We have been dining at Similian Thai for the past eight years - luckily, its just up the road from where we live! We realised a couple of weeks ago, that as its on our doorstep we'd forgotten to write a review. So, here we go ... the food is excellent (comparable to dishes I tasted in Krabi province, when... This place is great! I love Thai food and this doesn't disappoint. The dishes aren't massively westernised, so isn't to everyone's taste, but the quality was really good. Only slightly negative aspects were the atmosphere, it's slightly drab and the dishes marked 'mild' might not be! My sister had the Penang and was having a very difficult time...we all tried... More

Judging by the excellent reviews, and living in Highcliffe, I was hoping for a excellent dining experience. Whilst it was fully booked, and reminded me of various asian restaurants that I have visited abroad, the food was nice, but for me, lacked that "Wow Factor". The service however was excellent, and the cost was OK

We went to the Similan Thai last night. The meal was simply delicious. I had prawns with cashew nuts and pineapple. There was plenty of it and the taste was brilliant. We are always pleased with whatever we have there. If you don't like anything too spicy just tell them. Can't wait to go again. We have already booked for... More
