We visited the restaurant on the outside terrace for afternoon tea today. On ordering the drinks I was asked for my credit card this was prior to ordering food. The card was taken from me and placed in a small box and I was handed a key. On asking why the waitress stated that the card would be held in... More

Quiet sunny day to enjoy a drink. Location was great sitting outside to watch the world pass us by. Unfortunately the world passed us by on numerous occasions and after 45 mins from ordering 2 lattes and 1 cup of tea it started to feel like Groundhog Day! To cap it all off when our drinks arrived only the tea... More

Visited here for afternoon tea on a warm sunny day in June. Sat on the terrace overlooking the river on comfy sofas. Great service, good food and lovely atmosphere. Would recommend for tea, lunch or a drink but did not try the restaurant itself.

Great location with wonderful views of the river and quay, pleasant and friendly staff and an interesting menu and winelist. Good idea to have a number of dishes with small portions for sharing, plus a good choice of wines by glass, so we had salmon fishcakes, pea and asparagus risotto, Caesar salad with sides of delicious Chantenay carrots, mature cheddar... Enjoyed a wonderful lunch to celebrate a family birthday. The menu was varied and we were all really pleased with our choices, including my toddler who loved her grilled fish from the children's menu. Service was excellent and the view of the boats on the river outside made the occasion particularly memorable. We enjoyed a pretty walk along the opposite... More

Enjoyed good coffee and delicious light chunks of shortbread on the riverside terrace on a very sunny day. It was so peaceful just watching the boats sailing by. On a cooler day, the inside seating area would be very comfortable with lots of settees and large windows overlooking the river. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and everywhere looked... I took my wife to this hotel restaurant for a meal to celebrate our 31st anniversary. the staff are always polite efficient and helpful. the Menu is changed on a regular basis. The food is great and being right next to the river with panoramic view is just brilliant. On a sunny evening (its not dark here until 10pm in... More

The setting is marvelous with great views, but the food is really disappointing. We were a group of 6 for lunch and not one of us enjoyed the food. Basically it's all completely tasteless. For example, my open crab sandwich had stale bread and watery crab that I suspect had been frozen. Other annoying matters were that when I booked... More
