Great location

It was a lovely sunny evening and the restaurant is the perfect setting for drinks and food overlooking the water. We had a great meal and the service was really good too. The menu has a good choice of bar style foods as well as the traditional full food options you would expect.

I was really looking forward to lunch here with friends. It is in a beautiful setting beside the Stour. The restaurant area itself was rather like a hotel foyer but pleasant enough with excellent views. The dining chairs were comfortable but made it quite awkward to eat, as they had high sided arms. The service was attentive and friendly, although... More

We visted the Captains Club as a treat for my Wife's birthday and had a very lazy afternoon tea there. We sat outside on their terrace overlooking the river and were treated to something very special with exemplary service. The tea (Assam I believe) was very good quality and plentiful and the food superb and also plentiful, it's not often... More

I visited Captains Club for afternoon tea with three friends. I highly recommend if you want something different. We had the bubbly afternoon tea. You are given a glass of bubbly and the sandwiches, cakes and scones are delicious. You pay a little bit more but it is worth a visit.

Have been here a couple of times before And it's been very nice. Food was ok, just ok, position of restaurant is lovely, beside the river. On this occasion we were disappointed. 2 waitress, one was lovely and the other really didn't want to be there. Food is priced ok for a hotel and the position. Food choice ok, however... More

We only went to the bar for a drink one night but were not impressed. The bar was busy but lacking in atmosphere, the seats were some of the most uncomfortable I have ever sat in and the drinks were brands we had never heard of and very expensive. Did not go back!

As my wife and I were married at The Captains Club just over 5 years ago, we go to the restaurant for important occasions. We went there recently to celebrate my wife's birthday, and as always the service and food were excellent. Staff are always attentive and the food is something totally different! Well done to all concerned!

Fab views and great food and service. Really friendly and attentive service from every member of staff. Lovely fish platter lunch and a few glasses of vino. Special attention given to our 3 year old grandson who was invited to meet the resident pet dog. Classy n stylish venue. We will definitely book to stay for a weekend.

Great Restaurant, lovely food, staff very nice and, friendly and efficient. this is an expensive restaurant but worth every penny especially for a special occasion. It is in a very nice setting alongside the river and on a day such as yesterday we were able to sit on the patio outside the restaurant.
