Very good quality food and good service

Visited on Friday evening. Sat in lounge area rather than the restaurant area. Really enjoyed the food, one fish dish and a green curry with a baked brie to share as a starter. All the food was well cooked and presented nicely. My one comment would be that I disagree with being presented with an... read more

We stayed here when my husband had a business trip. The apartment was incredibly spacious - possibly bigger than our flat! The view of the river from the living room and bedroom was lovely. In room breakfast was a real treat (although toast bit burnt and boring sliced white which was a surprise as we'd had quite special bread with... More

Booked an afternoon tea for a friends birthday. Table outside was lovely by the water. Service very very slow, sandwiches dry, scones dry, Bill wrong.. However it was busy and waiter very polite. Setting perfect. Would def give it another chance....

I have been many times to the CC hotel , but never before for Afternoon tea, on bank holiday Monday I took a friend with another friend there for an afternoon tea. Having been recommended as being excellent 😢. It was dreadful. When I rang to book I told the receptionist it was my friends BIG. Birthday , there was... More

It was our 1st time at the Captains Club and definitely won't be the last! Everything about it is perfect, the location, the rooms, the food (which is excellent), the staff (who are lovely, friendly & super helpful). Such a well run hotel! We will 100% be returning & I will be recommending to everyone!

Regular visitor here dropped in for a late lunch. Poor service, took 15 minutes to get noticed. My eggs benedict lukewarm. Husbands breakfast roll, hard bun, burnt sausage, hard bacon. Asked for a glass of water, gave up and went to the bar on the way out. - succeeded there. Charged for an extra coffee. Very disappointing. Be a long... More

I took my father to this restaurant for his 84th birthday. The situation is beautiful and it was a lovely, sunny day. It was our first visit and we had high expectations. Our table was ready and we went straight to it where we were left for more than 20 minutes. Nobody approached us, nobody offered us a menu or... More

Great views and a wonderful place to meet friends for a meal or a drink. Helpful staff and tasty food. Tables or sofa seating with panoramic views over the river.

What can i say about this marvelous hotel. the staff and very friendly and accommodating. the surroundings are divine with such wonderful views over the river Stour, and all the boats travelling along. Having been given vouchers for a lunch here we were delighted with the attentive service and very helpful staff. We chose the £30 a head three course menu. In my starter of cheese souffle, the cheese was so subtle, I could not taste it, not a patch on Brasserie Blanc's Comte cheese souffle. The 5 hour slow roasted pork was... More
