Stayed here as we were visiting friends in the area. Staff were very friendly and approachable. Room was very pleasant and to a high standard with a good en suite and comfortable bed. Cooked breakfast was also very good. The low review score is rated on the poor night's sleep we had due to noise in the room we were... More

Had lunch here on a Sunday on way back from a weekend in Cardiff. The food was really good, great value for money. Plenty of pub classics available and a few more unusual options on the specials board!

My score is based on the poor nights sleep in room 8... I would avoid at all costs as the room on a nice summers day is very hot and you will need the windows open then it feels like you are sleeping actually on the M5! The curtains would actually move from the lorries going past! Even with the... More

Cheap. Basic. Clean. Unfortunately there are roadworks nearby and it was really really noisy all night. It is right on the main road and we were at the front. The food is ok at night but breakfast is dire if you dont want a fry up. The continental was a couple of cereals and a bowl of apples and oranges.... More

Stayed for a stop over on our way home from our holiday in Cornwall. Paid about £120 for 2 rooms. One for our two eldest boys and a family room for us and our youngest. I cant complain at all about the price of the rooms or infact the rooms. They were clean and functional and had everything you needed... More

I've only been to this pub once before for lunch but my latest visit was for an evening meal. It was a good halfway point between me and a friend I was catching up with and the fact it is 2for1 was a bonus. Service was prompt and friendly, and they were quite happy to leave us for a bit... More

The 2for1 format is great value as is the variety of meals on offer an the six of us had a very enjoyable evening. The service was excellent and the only minor gripe was having several kids in the "child free area"

Undeniably the value for money aspect is the 2-4-1 offer on main meals it's just a pity the food is of substandard quality. The staff however fell well below standard in attitude and appearance, the young woman named Laura who served us looked dirty, with long, clearly unwashed hair, disgustingly long fingernails and had tattoos exposed and in my opinion... Having been to the Robin Hood up the road we found the Crown with ease a far better place to eat a vast selection of meals served hot and tasty the place is in the old style of tall ceilings but modern outlook i found the carpark a bit restricted but a good place to stop
