First trip here . Initially experienced poor service at the bar , as whilst slightly busy , I stood for several minutes without even being acknowledged . Everntually got served without any apology for delay / any warmness . Had come to eat and asked for menus ( also had what appeared to be a reasonable "specials" board ) .... More

Called in after stopping in the area. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We intended to have just lunch but ended up having a 3 course meal. I had the chilli beef nachos to start and they we're ace. Salted just right to bring out the flavour which made them meaty and good. I had the belly pork after... More

I have been frequenting this pub for twenty years as a visitor to the campsite up the road. Up until now we have always loved going to this pub as the atmosphere, good beers and good range of (pricey) food ticked all the boxes for mine and my friends' families. I understand that since my last visit, the pub has... More

We were fortunate to turn up on the weekend when Darby's was holding as beer festival. A splendid selection of real ales, including several from Adnam's. Food is good too. Service was polite and helpful - we weren't rushed to choose a beer but were advised about the different flavours. The beer festival included bands in the adjacent field which... More

Homely pub in the centre of the village, good pub grub, excellent beer and very friendly! The beef and ale pie was delicious, the burger I had was very filling but as always we would like to look at the dessert menu and guess what minutes later we were tucking into the white chocolate cheesecake with a raspberry jus, delicious... We dined here with friends after a superb walk in the Swanton Morley area. I had the burger and the other three people had two pies of the day ( steak and ale) and a fish and chips. My burger meal was an absolute tower and extremely good. All the meals were very good with no issues. Meals we considered... More

I can't comment on the food but, as a pub exists to sell beer (in my opinion) I will comment on that. In short, it's very good. There is an excellent selection. They sell Adnams (best beer in the world) which is kept very well. The pub itself is very 'spit and sawdust' with a huge fireplace, lots of exposed... More
