We discovered this fabulous restaurant through TA and it was not a disappointment. It would be easily missed with minimum outdoor signage but once found it is a real revelation. Steps lead downstairs to a basement area decorated to resemble an old vault. The staff are friendly and helpful and know the menu inside out. The food is different, extremely... More

Very popular spot with groups and couples of all age ranges. Can get a bit noisy or atmospheric depending on viewpoint. Ramsay-inspired menu with limited choices done well. Excellent wine list, at very reasonable prices, without the usual restaurant mark-up. Excellent antipasti starter - miniature butternut squash soup, rare breed sausage roll, foie gras/calvados jelly, quinced walnut jelly. Mains of... More

Ok, I'm being a bit mischievous, but seriously Cafe Merlot has been on a "J" curve of sheer culinary brilliance over the last two years. Time and time again its delightful, well thought out and imperiously cooked meals leave us gasping at their stellar magnificence! We both had the special starter consisting of an assiette of foie gras parfait, curried... More

I have been in this restaurant on a few occasions and I found the food to be second to none. You got to try the burger in blue cheese sauce it's absolutely exquisite, probably one of the tastiest burgers ever eaten. Atsmosphere is amazing and staff excellent. Can wait to eat there again.

Often visit for lunch on a Saturday. Sandwiches have a good variety of options for fillings and choices of homemade breads. I always find the soup very over salted though, and the coffee isn't great.

Visited Enniskillen for two nights and was recommended Cafe Merlot . We dined here both nights as the Food, Staff, Price, Atmosphere was Amazing . Food was without a doubt the finest food in taste and presentation we have ever experienced. Can't wait to visit again.

Made a reservation for a Saturday night, John (the owner) gave us a time, we arrived 10 minutes early to be ignored by young waitresses who looked like they didn't want to be there, waited for 5 minutes for someone to find our reservation when John seated a regular (as he greeted him by his first name) who had just... What a great restaurant, it came recommended by friends. I am so pleased we tried it. Best meal I've had in ages, pretty food with fabulous flavours. This restaurant is worth traveling from Belfast to visit a great excuse for a we overnight! The wine list is excellent and the staff knowledgable and friendly. I can't recommend highly enough.

Had a fantastic meal with friends on halloween night. The restaurant was buzzing with atmosphere and friendly people. Our choices from the menu were well explained, flexible and cooked to perfection. Johnny's amazing knowledge of wine ensured our choice was spot on, and his friendly staff were attentive and pleasant. We've been before and we'll certainly be back again. It... More
