What kind of hotel let's you phone and book a table for dinner with children, and then turns you away when you arrive with nothing more than a very insincere 'sorry'. Fowey Hall Hotel - thanks a bunch. After driving for an hour through heavy traffic we were looking forward to dinner and a relaxing evening. On arrival we were... More

We were in the area & decided to escape the rain relax with a glass of wine & enjoy the fabulous vista over Fowey. The public areas appear more shabby than chic with dirty windows, sticky furniture & remains of food & cutlery on tables & the floor. Lots of staff standing around around talking to each other & doing very... More

Firstly let me say the setting and Fowey is lovely, but as for the staff at the hotel and making you feel valued, they score 1 out of 10. The day we visited, there were not more than 10 people ordering tea, some of whom were like us using vouchers for a special present. The service was totally disorganised, useless... More

My partner and I dined at Fowey Hall on Father's Day 2014, and this report is not coloured because my daughters telephoned prior to my arrival and pre paid for the meal for Fathers Day, but the reception was warm and welcoming, we sat outside and had a pre meal drink overlooking Fowey Harbour which is a view to remember.... We were staying at the hotel so tried the restaurant on our first night, but didn't bother again. The food was very average but expensive and the service was surprisingly poor. The staff seemed very inexperienced - we were left with our plates for ages between courses and requests for things (like another drink and the childrens pudding menu) were... More

We had two meals in the restaurant during our three night stay. The first was excellent, the second very good but not quite as good as the first. I would have liked it had the menu changed just a little but if you're staying in the hotel would definitely recommend having at least one meal there

Stopped by as a meeting point to go on further to hen weekend. Weather was gorgeous and the views are amazing, it could be mistaken as a caribbean resort from outside. We sat outside, took a while to be seen to but once we had Sam who served us was very polite and very informal about the area to which... More

I went to Fowey Hall in a family party for Sunday lunch. In brief it was pleasant but not mind-blowing & more staff training is required. The surroundings are lovely - the country house of 'local boy made good' of Hanson Trust fame, ex Lord Mayor of London in 1917. High Victorian building with a view - what a view... More
