Description: A Relaxed Waterfront Restaurant. The bright restaurant leads out onto a spacious terrace where on a sunny day you can enjoy afternoon tea (the Cornish way of course, jam first!), A pre-dinner glass of fizz, or a long and lazy lunch. It's a great spot to watch life on the estuary unfold, from boats of all shapes and sizes to the local wildlife which includes resident swans and the occasional dolphin.Fowey River oysters, local scallops, West Country meat and Cornish cheeses... Hungry yet? 'Q' restaurant at The Old Quay House offers excellent dining in a relaxed, unstuffy setting. Forget unsmiling waiters, small portions and whispered conversations, dining here is all about fun and enjoyment - quality local and season produce features heavily on head chef Ben Bass'menu of creative, contemporary dishes. Our wine list, hand-picked by Britain's youngest Master of Wine, is pretty good too...

Came here for the first time in years with a friend this weekend. Amazing location, we sat outside and shared a jug of pimms over looking the river. Great service, they provide blankets for when it's a bit chilly and popcorn with the drinks was a lovely touch! A little pricey but would definitely recommend!

Had an amazing cream tea here on the terrace overlooking the harbour. What was especially nice was that we could take our dog through the hotel and onto the terrace and while we had an extremely tasty cream tea in beautiful surroundings, the staff brought out water and a huge biscuit for the dog without being asked. It was a... More

Even if you are not fortunate enough to be staying at the Hotel the restaurant and terrace are open to non-residents. The menu is varied but seafood features extensively although steaks and other meats are available. There is a good selection of wine moderately priced but all wines were superb.

Good restaurant in a fantastic location and very good service but priced for the London visitors, there's probably just as good cuisine without the view cheaper along the main drag.

I had some of my best meals ever here at the Old Quay. the chef is fantastic-try the duck- it's outstanding. Well worth the somewhat steep prices.

We had a very good evening at The Old Quay House. The setting was lovely but we chose to sit indoors as it was a little chilly outside although were still able to enjoy the view. The service was attentive and the food was a very good standard. We particularly enjoyed our smoked salmon starters. My risotto was beautifully cooked... More

Visited on a quiet Tuesday eve and were shown out to the terrace which was stunning view and felt rather exclusive. Service was good and attentive and meal was perfectly nice but we felt was very overpriced. The stars are for the ambience rather than the meal, which is fine if money no object but there are better places to... More

We ate here whilst staying in Fowey as it was recommended but to be honest it did not live up to the billing. The staff were very good and the setting is outstanding but the food was very average for the price. Almost inedible steak!

Pleased to see that someone else has left a bad review after a visit today. We thought it was just us, on arrival the waitress seemed a bit surly and when we requested a gluten free cake or scone were told that there was none, coeliacs not well catered for. The kittows hot dog was inedible, we had to search... More
