Occupying elevated position @cul-de-sac end of Golant, with superb views over R> Fowey, with superb food to match
We ate in the restaurant for both nights of our stay, primarily because on the first night there were so many good dishes I had to return to sample my second favourite. The service was attentive but not intrusive and very knowledgeable of the menu and wine list. The cooking and presentation of the food was excellent, just the correct... More
Requests to exclude an ingredient from both my partner and my order were ignored. Service was very poor and we felt ignored. The rump steak was also very tough and lacked flavour.
It is many years since I had dinner at The Cormorant and I was not disappointed with our visit - the meal was outstanding, the weather was perfect and one really has to make a visit to appreciate the views of the River Fowey - we had a window table and so what could be better. Shall certainly be visiting... More
Gorgeous, innovative menu, in a super location - and with rooms of course! The tastes produced by the chefs were first class and beyond. A fabulous dining experience every time, served by wonderfully accommodating and knowledgable staff - with a great wine cellar, at sensible prices too. Atmosphere added to by tasteful and totally appropriate background music, that varied with... More
Excellent food, wonderful views and although a little expensive I must say it was well worth it. We will be eating there again
We had a family meal here which was good. The food was absolutely first class and the views from the restaurant and lounge were outstanding. We did feel a little conspicuous in what was a very quiet environment. It was mid week so at other times it may have a better buzz.
The hotel staff made our stay extra special. When we arrived we weren't happy with our room so i explained why and they moved us instantly. The room was lovely, beautiful batthroom and view. Not quite as luxurious as the photos on the website suggest and it was a double bed which was surprising however it was spotless, comfortable and... More
Lovely meals - from starter to the dessert. Attention to detail made it perfect for us. We ate at the Cormorant every night during our stay with them and always had a wonderful meal. There is a log fire in the dining room in the winter which is absolutely beautiful. We had coffee in the lounge which overlooks the river... More
We ate here during a two day whistle stop tour of the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan earlier this month. Having been enticed in by the fabulous views over the estuary - we were warmly welcomed by the owner Mary Tozer and her staff and wowed by the choice, quality and presentation of food in the restaurant...
