OK this place is worth the journey stunning place only must on our recent revisit trip to Devon & Cornwall. The food is stunning the place is quaint and querky with the kitchen area looking like something from Home and Gardens. It not perfect but that would mean it would lose it charm if it was as the summer student... More

We shared a cheese toastie, that they split onto 2 plates and came with ENORMOUS, but well dressed side salad. I suspect the price is a little over inflated but you expect that in Fowey. Serving the cheese toastie with spicy sweet & sour sauce was a lovely touch. We also shared a delicious light homemade cake. Were told we... More

I have been here before but in teh summer and ate in teh rear courtyard, so hadnt realised quite how cramped and shabby the interior is. I dont think its actually dirty, or I wouldnt have eaten there, but its all very, very shabby, I know there is meant to be some character, but the furniture and paintwork, and carpet... More

The Dwelling house is quite unique in the heart of Fowey. A lovely old fashioned house where you can see the cakes being baked in the kitchen and they really are delicious. The Dwelling House also make the best crab sandwiches in Cornwall my personal favourite. The light lunches are also very good , well worth a visit

We visited here during our stay in Fowey and purposely went in for cream teas. The fresh warm scones, clotted cream, homemade jams, Cornish teas and service certainly didn't disappoint! The only observation is that the tables were a little cramped which you could argue adds to the atmosphere but I would rather have a bit more space.

We walked out of here on the first occasion because the tea was very pricey at £2.30 a pot and the cake £3.50 a slice, plus the outside tables were all occupied. However, as it had good recommendations we persevered and returned on another day as Fowey doesn't have too many tea rooms. The second time, not only was the... More

We went to The Dwelling House for lunch when visiting Fowey on holiday. It was a nice day so we sat in the garden. The garden was small with one available table at the back tucked behind some bushes but it was a lovely peaceful setting. We’ve often had problems with outside tables being wobbly because of the uneven ground,... More

Quirky setting (including the bonkers toilet in a bedroom!), nice friendly staff but most important... a FANTASTIC cream tea!
