Old worldly but very nice local food.

An interesting place to brunch, lunch or after-noon tea.All to easy to walk past, but venture inside and you find an old world tea room and a delightful garden to eat out the back. The soup of the day was thick, rich and tasty on those unfortunate cold and wet days.Afternoon teas were delicious and I... read more

Recommended as the place to go for afternoon tea by the locals, really enjoyed their great selection of teas, as well as the beautiful home-made scones and jams.

Been here a few times, for coffee, snacks or lunch. Unique decor, a bit like Georgian times but unpretentious and arty. Good food, prepared to order in open plan and visible kitchen. Home made scones, cakes etc with wide range of hot drinks. Plentiful top ups of milk etc. Nothing is ever too much trouble,

Lovely qerky place. Warm welcome even though we had been on a long walk with some mud on our boots. Crab sandwiches were fantastic. Full of meat. Lovely selection of teas, huge choice. Would definitely go again

We chose this place for its old world charm and lovely menu. The room we were seated in was at the front of the building and full of wonderful eclectic items which added to the charm of the place. Of course, some people may not find this to their taste, but we did, we loved it. The wait staff were... More

My wife wanted to sample a Cornish cream tea so we tried The Dwellng house. The room was just as I remember my old granny's house, old furniture, slight musty smell but homely. My wife had her cream tea, it was ok... I had a crab sandwich which was lovely. Just an average tea house, ok for a quick break

Firstly, the food and service are top-draw! Great to see an open kitchen with food prepared to order. The decor looks to be shabby-chic but with oversized tables that make circulation problematic, wobbly table tops and chairs that look to have been reupholstered in the late 1670's it's more tatty-bleak. However, I'd rather great food and questionable decor than the... More

Easy to miss this tea shop as you walk along the main street in lower Fowey. But do look out for it as they serve excellent traditional tea shop fayre in an impressive old building. There is indoor and outdoor space to sit down. It's a bit cramped in the main front room at busy times and the décor is... More
