We fancied a trip out in Sunday for lunch and had tried the bowes before on a Sunday but always seemed to get there at peak times and had to go somewhere else. However we were spot on this Sunday and secured a lovely table next to the window and radiator. We ordered chicken with haggis for Robert Burns and... More

I have visited this hotel and used the restaurant on many occasion. The Bowes Incline is an unpretentious place offering first class restaurant food. On this last visit we had the salmon encroute and the seafood linguine accompanied with good value beer and lager as well as wine. It is a tad awkward to find if you are a stranger... More

We've been here a number of times both during the day and of an evening and the standard of food is always high. Today we decided to call in for a late Sunday lunch and were not disappointed. Choices were beef, pork, lamb or chicken with 3 veg, mash, roast potatoes and Yorkshire Pud and it was delicious and the... More

Visited here on a Sunday tea time, didn't fancy Sunday dinner and what was great is they have their full menu available still. The food is generous portions and is very good! I like the decor and the atmosphere is very relaxed, I would definitely bring my friends back here.

Just popped in for a change as our usual place was very busy and we were running late. We had the soup of the day special. A bowl of their soup, with half a sandwich of your choice, made with a very fresh granary bread, served with a side salad and horse radish sauce. It was absolutely delicious and very reasonable... Came here in September for Sundays dinner with my partner and baby girl. Was not asked if we would like a high chair so had to then go searching for when and put it up ourselves. It was dirty and had to clean it ourselves at this point it was not busy inside. Food was ok and service was fine.... More

Arrived for Sunday Lunch. Menu was on a chalkboard. A nice young lady told us they were full and we may have to wait up to 20 mins for a table. It was a nice day so we sat outside with a drink. A few minutes later she told us a table was aavilable and showed us to it. After... More

Been a few times and never been disappointed. HOME MADE CHIPS are brilliant. Tonight I had the lamb burger which was so tasty. Home made steak and ale pie with real shortcrust pastry is excellent. All meals are plentiful and well worth the money. As previous review states it is a little more pricey than other pubs but well worth... More
