Well worth following the " Long and Winding Road "

We have visited this venue on at least four occasions, but this is my first review of the place. So after two Sunday lunches, and two evening meals, I have nothing negative to report. The food has always been plentiful, well cooked, hot on arrival and well presented. The staff have always been... read more

Went to the Bowes recently with all the family. Slight wait as it was pleasantly busy - always a good sign. Staff could not have been more helpful, especially as we had a 15 month old in tow. Superb food from the special board, the Sunday lunch choice, and the main menu. We had come to celebrate haivng orgainsed a... More

Called in to the Bowes Incline after been told about there steak and kidney puddings. And they lived up to recommendations. WOW😀. They are full of lovely meat and chips are homemade. They also have a good range of beers.

We arrived to a mostly empty pub and asked for a table of 10, we were seated at a table for 8 and we then asked for another table to be brought over but had to move it ourselves which would be fine except the waitress wasn't happy that we moved a table of four instead of two even though... More

As a foursome we try to do a different local restaurant for Christmas dinner each year, and have to say that up to now, this is by far the best. The atmosphere is very relaxing and the food exceptional. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for manager Holly, her waitress staff and bar staff, and everything is done to... More

We have been here before but not for a while. Called in on chance with family and had a great evening meal. Extensive choice on black board, quick service but not too quick, and excellent food. Black pudding starter was described "to die for"! Will be back soon.

We've been going here for years and have always loved the place but feel like lately there's something missing. The menu is extensive but expensive, overly so, I've been to restaurants in the centre of Newcastle and paid less for the same meals, it's definitively overpriced in comparison to other restaurants and pubs in the area. I also think they... More

Had lunch with the family here during half term , plenty of choice on the mune aswell as a special board , we didn't have to long to wait and I thought the food was hot , however my daughter said her was cold , I did find it to be a bit pricey for pub grub & the decor... More

Comprehensive menu, something to suit all. Reasonable prices ranging from a tenner for homemade burger, thirteen for salmon and prawn wellington, and just under twenty for a good steak. Good size portions. We were in a group of ten and all of our meals came out together. It was a Wednesday night, so not overly busy, my only crticism is... More

Heard a lot of good reviews about their Sunday roast so decided to give it a go. Really nice dinner (not as good as mine)but service was very quick! Ordered drinks when we arrived and ordered food at same time thinking it would be a good 20 minutes before food arrived! 5 minutes later food was served 🍴 It was... More
