I have been going to The Imperial for years and have always had a good time. It has become a staple for family get togethers, birthdays, etc. The service is fantastic and they always have a smile on their face. They are willing to help you out with anything. Food is lovely and reasonably priced. The shredded duck is out... More

The starters -the chicken and sweetcorn soup and the dim sum they were unbelievable in fact. However what a difference when we came to the main course thought. They were hardly edible... More

Went in July 2014 on a Saturday night - booking is essential on weekends, the restaurant was full when we got there. Staff all nice and friendly, took our order quickly. We had the duck and Imperial spring roll starters which were both very nice, you could tell the Spring Rolls were freshly made and fried. For mains we had... More

18th birthday meal for daughters, other daughter, boyfriends and the wallet. We love this place - food, service and ambience all second to none. Oh, and as we were leaving our daughter was given a bottle of Prosecco by management - try it!!

What can I say excellent, excellent, excellent every time. Have been going here since it first opened (over 20 years ago, I think with the lovely Henda fronting house, God rest his soul, he is sorely missed). This continues to be the best Chinese restaurant in the north east and possibly the country, I am biased as the staff know... More

Great service, delicious food! Been eating there for years for special occasions, big family parties, date nights and casual lunches. Lunch menu is exceptional value- long may it continue! The staff are easy going and non-intrusive. Chairs are reasonably comfortable- always something I look for. Decor is smart oriental and inoffensive. Positives- Best tasting chinese food in Gateshead, relaxed atmosphere,... More
