From Raval's sophisticated and award-winning restaurant overlooking the spectacular Newcastle upon Tyne and Gateshead cityscape, our team of world class chefs deliver the very best in contemporary Indian fusion food. Our tantalising cuisine, indisputable knowledge, charming staff, modern and inviting atmosphere and unrivalled location, next to the Hilton Hotel and Sage Gateshead, ensure that our guests keep coming back for more. We have a team of world class chefs delivering the very best in contemporary Indian fusion food right here in Newcastle upon Tyne. Indian food served in the UK is often anglicized and high fat, high calorie and unauthentic, Raval Restaurant seeks to move away from this by serving cuisine with real Indian spices and flavour.

Great food

Great ambience and a soul refreshing lassi did some serious justice to the system. Enjoyed the food. Fried rice is proper home-made style pilau rice as opposed to the coloured rice offered in most restaurants.

Raval is different to other Indian restaurants. I've dined there a few times and always been delighted. Great choice across the menus, from fish, chicken and lamb dishes to vegetarian options. The Manjal Tikka was the most perfectly cooked chicken I've had. The Chicken Patiala was nicely spiced and the coconut curry is perfect for those who like their curry... More

We've been going to Raval Restaurant since not long after it opened some years ago but after tonight's dismal experience we won't be going again. While we waited for our table no pre dinner drinks were offered and when we were shown to the table we wondered if it was our waiter's first night; he was slow could not cope... More

I visited this place as it was voted one of the best Indian restaurants in the area. I agree that it is certainly the best decorated, and it does have a great atmosphere and friendly staff. The presentation of the food is certainly one of the best I have seen in an Indian restaurant, however, the food did not live... More

We went here before going on to the sage for a show. it was great, we informed them that we had to be out by a particular time so they served us quickly which was great. food and service good to, one small point was that we asked for a jug of water and was given a glass as they... More

We visited for the first time prior to a concert at the Sage and were very impressed with the whole experience. On arrival it was very busy but we were greeted and made to feel very welcome. The staff took the time to find out our plans for the evening and asked what time the doors opened at the Sage.... More

Took my partner here for dinner for a birthday treat, before heading to the Sage to watch a concert. I was lucky enough that his birthday happened to fall during a week's special offer at Raval, it must have been meant to be! The food was really, really nice, and presented with a modern twist. We both love Indian food... More

Ravals never fails to deliver outstanding cuisine, the menu always describes tempting and interesting options not seen in the usual run of the mill indian restaurant. having dined here many times I cannot praise the food or service highly enough, this is definitely one of my most favourite restaurants and well worth the effort to visit. Avi always excels himself... More
