So pleased to have booked in advance as people were turned away as we arrived. Friendly and attentive service coupled with lovely food. Would recommend if going to visit Sage as within very easy walking distance.

Visited for early evening meal having booked table online and requested window seat (which we got). Early evening menu consisted of around 4 choices of starters, mains and desserts at £18.50 a head. We had starters of crab croquettes and ham salad to start - they were both OK. Mains of breaded chicken with mash and brocolli (which was also... More

We went for afternoon tea for a special birthday and this exceeded my expectations. After a wander around the modern art gallery, Baltic, we arrived at Six to welcoming and smiling staff. I'd requested a table by the window if possible - well worth asking for this as the views over the bridge, Tyne and quayside were great. (I remember... More

We visited Six for afternoon tea with cocktails for my boyfriends birthday. We were seated at a table with a lovely view and staff were perfectly attentive. We had a choice of cocktail from the full menu, both were delicious. All the items on the afternoon tea were delicious especially the scones. I will be back soon and would highly... More

This restaurant offers amazing views of the river and Newcastle quayside. The food quality was mixed with my wife considering her food excellent while mine was not good. I had the North Shields Crab Benedict which I did not feel was a success as the egg was lukewarm and the crab very cold. For my main course I had the... More

Tried six the week before we were going to go with friends. Found the food adequate and nothing to complain about, but also nothing to rave about and personally when I'm paying over £50 per head for three courses I expect to rave about something. Setting fantastic and staff courteous and professional but overall for a few quid more you... More

We had been intending to go to Six for some time and a visit from my sister-in-law provided the perfect opportunity to have lunch there. As previous reviewers have noted the setting is stunning especially on a day with a cloudless blue sky. The staff were very welcoming. We had the set menu which was excellent value for money, delicious... More

Sandwiches were lovely and fresh. Scones just the right size to avoid feeling over stuffed and majority of sweet treats were pleasant, The almost luminous pink dessert did not look at all from very pleasant staff. I am not usually keen on afternoon tea but this was definitely one of the better ones that I have had
