Located in the pretty Woolsthorpe village this inviting pub provides reasonable food and a selecting of real ales as well as the usual pub drinks. However, if you have a big appetite, maybe this pub isn't for you. Portion control is tight. So the reasonable prices may not be as reasonable as you might think. This control extends to the... More

Fantastic hosts in a well kept beautiful pub in the heart of the Vale of Belvoir. We booked a table for 20 on the evening prior to our daughters wedding, we were served promptly despite the restaurant being full and a wedding in full swing. Every meal ordered was delicious and beautifully cooked and presented. Extremely impressed when other members... More

Jo & Justin are fantastic hosts to wonderful country pub in the heart of the Vale of Belvoir. The castle is close by and can be seen from the beer garden. Hearty food with an eclectic wine list make for memorable lunches and dinners with friends. Try and book a table in the main bar or the old bakehouse room... More

We didn't book but were told that it would be fine to dine in the restaurant on the night in question. I had a pie, which was quite good and a queen of puddings which was brilliant. I actually can't recall my partner's main, but he had a deconstructed dessert, which he expected to more of a tiramisu type of... More

We were on a visit from Essex and had been recommended to dine at the Chequers. We were not disappointed. The ambience, food and service was second to none. We had a lovely meal, and an excellent bottle of wine. If and when, we are in the area again, we will definitely book the Chequers.

Lovely pub with character, extensive wine, beer and cider selection. I had the perfect strawberry bellini. Good car parking but very, very busy. Recommend you book for weekends. Thai crabcakes were lovely but the pork terrine for starter was really tasty and mainly pork meat. The brioche it came with was just the right match. Both had roast dinners which... More

A friendly, buzzing pub/restaurant with excellent food.I made a mistake with my choice of beer, but no complaints from others in the party. The dining service was slow on this Bank Holiday monday; maybe to be expected, and frustrations soon forgotten after tucking in to main courses of home made fish cakes and roast pork. Recommended if you want a break within... More

There was no hurry to finish your meal and the service was exceptional. However the car park was rather small which meant it was a matter of first come first served.
