The Tollemache Arms is situated 4 miles off the A1 in the beautiful village of Buckminster, between Colsterworth and Melton Mowbray on the B676.The bar is open to everyone, their muddy feet and their dogs! Tasty bar nibbles such as home roasted mixed nuts, olives, pickled eggs and much more are prepared by the Chef and a selection of draught beers and local ales are changed regularly - all to be enjoyed in front of a cosy fire during the cold winter months! The dining room offers intimacy and the menu offers pub classics or sandwiches at lunchtime as well as bar snacks and other dishes to push your palate. The library is ideal for coffee mornings, meetings and an area for the children, with toys available. It is also popular during the evenings for pre-dinner/party drinks and after dinner coffees. We have a large garden with plenty of space for eating outside and can cater for private parties, weddings, christenings or any other events, either within the pub or in a marquee outside in the garden. The Tollemache Arms offers a relaxed, cosy atmosphere with friendly chat and we look forward to welcoming you on your visit.

Lovely atmosphere

what a great place to eat. Excellent atmosphere and reasonably priced food with a varied menu. Tables nice and clean. Food arrived promptly and was lovely and hot. Would have liked a choice of beans rather than peas but this is nit picking.

The food was good value, tasty and nicely presented. The service was fairly good though perhaps a little slow. So, why not a top grade? The NOISE. The decor is 'hard surface'. So the noise from other diners, the musac ( not music) and the fan buzzing from the kitchen - was a real challenge. Basically, we could hardly hear... More

Three seniors booked for a mid-week lunch, and arrived at 12.00 noon. I record this time if only to say that everything was in place, and a lovely open fire burning, with comfortable seating all round it. Our welcome by Sarah was as warm as the fire, and we were shown our table which was ready prepared. Menus duly given,... More

Went with friends, had not visited this place in a couple of years. the service was very good and the food excellent. Main courses ranged from smart (chicken and mussels) to boys food: Scampi and chips (on bar food menu but served in restaurant by request). Some great starters - home made sweetcorn fritters, vegetable tian, tart, ham hock. The... More

Eight of us for evening meal. A wedding party had booked the Restaurant, so we ate in the bar area. Lovely open fire, room as warm as the welcome. Staff were very pleasant, friendly and attentive, and everyone was delighted with the food. A really good find ; our 'party' meets once a month and all were unanimous that future... More

Another visit to the Tollemache Arms for a romantic meal on Valentine's evening. Everything was superb, from the warm and friendly welcome when we arrived, to the setting, the atmosphere and the amazing food. The rose and hand made chocolates a special touch. We've been here a few times now, lunchtime sandwiches and evening meals, and everything is always spot... More

We went to the Tollemache Arms for my wifes' birthday. The starter was fantastic and the main courses excellent. I would recommend this place to all. Get down there and experience some fantastic cuisine. Oh, and the staff were brilliant too!

I visited the Tollemache Arms at Buckminster with a large party of walkers. The staff were fabulous and unfazed by our numerous requests. The atmosphere was cosy, the food was excellent but the desserts were exceptional. The Tollemache has definitely gone up in the world! Recommended!

We found out that one of the chefs from Eden in Grantham has set up out in Buckminster and went out to enjoy his cooking and see how the pub was going. The interior was light and airy, giving a sense of contemporary space to an old building. Arriving at about 4pm we weren't sure if we'd get food, we... More
