First visit in a long while

We called in for the first time in several years for a coffee and a cake after visiting the garden centre at Belton. We were very impressed with cafe facilities themselves, but we did wait slightly longer than expected although they were very busy. The staff were very helpful and friendly and... read more

A party of 18 Saturday volunteers from nearby Belton House enjoyed yet another great meal and it was very reasonably priced. I enjoyed a large freshly cooked home made frittata with a side salad followed by home made Bakewell pudding in a lemon sauce and coffee for afters. the serving staff were also very attentive. Highly recommended ( this is... More

We have visited this area for a week for the past 12 years and mainly eat here for lunch or breakfast every day. The food is excellent and we have always found the staff very pleasant. The food is home cooked, the portions are large and it is great value. It does get busy sometimes so you may have to... More

Visited today for the first time with husband and 3 children. On arrival it was naturally busy and there were no tables for 5. However we were told one would be free shortly and we were asked to wait. 25 minutes later we were still waiting despite 4 tables to accommodate us having become free and no incentive for staff... Arrived before cafe was due to open at 10am. Chairs where still on the tables but we were made very welcome they took all the chairs down and opened the cafe for us. The cafe itself is in a fantastic spot take the time to come of the A1 it is well worth it. Had bacon and egg sandwiches which... More

We stopped here on a whim for something to eat and had a great experience. As we entered the restaurant we were greeted with big friendly smiles and told to sit where ever we liked. The waitress was very efficient and took our order after allowing just the right amount of time to choose from the very extensive menu. The... More

Decided to go after being told how great this place was to eat. Far too many tables, felt squashed in and uncomfortable. Food was average, wouldn't go again

Called on way back from coastal holiday . Better than a service station! Only had tea cakes and drinks for six and saw little change from £20!! At least space for children to play and stretch legs on a long journey!
