We had a girls night out here recently which was very enjoyable. The majority of us selected from the Christmas menu which had some tasty sounding options. I enjoyed my starter of treacle cured salmon, the main, a beef dish was ok but my dessert of Creme brûlée was disappointing; no crunchy top and the grapes served alongside had obviously... More

A real country pub, with a roaring fire and a nice ambience. I urge any real ale lovers to try their home brewed Shibden Bitter! The pheasant was a highlight as was their rhubarb panna cotta. I also love the fat chips!

As part of a walking group, we visited 10/12/14 for both breakfast and lunch. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. Despite a busy serving at lunch, the food was served on time and it was memorable. I have been to so many Christmas lunches which, despite the cost, are poor. THIS WAS NOT!!... More

We are regulars to the Shibden Mill, always for drinks but often for a Sunday Roast too. This Sunday's roast was particularly excellent. The beef was cooked to perfection (pink), a very good and (personally favorable) mixture of vegetables and fabulous Yorkshire pudding. And for the first time I had the Shibden Petit Fours for dessert. A very good choice.... More

Excellent Food, well worth the price which is a little above average. Can be really busy, popular on Sunday Lunch, but was still able to be allocated a table as a walk in customer. Lamb was excellent. This was our second time, will certainly visit again

I have to say that this is one of my favourite places in Halifax, its a hotel/restaurant which caters for business users and couples/families. If you are looking for cheap this isn't it - its priced higher than average but I'd say it was fair for the quality of the food which they serve. The ales are excellent and change... More

Lovely location and great service, but the food was poor. We had fish and chips, tasteless fish with tough batter, I would suspect these are frozen battered, not fresh...chips just the same over cooked no flavour, presentation was good.

My wife and I had lunch here on a cold wet day in November Warm and cosy inside with open fires but without the smoky smell which often happens. I had the soufflé which was brilliant my wife had fish. Great food well worth a visit.

Beautiful setting in a cozy, atmospheric pub with a good selection of ales. Often busy and booking at peak times is recommended. I have eaten here a few times. Service is always excellent, serving local produce which I appreciate. However food has been variable. I have had some stunning souffles and game cooked here and usually the accompaniments show good... More
