Second visit to Inn on the beach. Last time was an evening meal, today it was lunch for 3 of us. The only negative for us was having to go upstairs - the 80 year old with us can still manage stairs albeit slowly, but it is worth it for the view when you get there. On a cold December... More

I was part of John's group of 25 and would agree with all he has written and just add a bit. From the moment of arrival the service from the manager and all the staff was attentive, thoughtful and polite. Congratulations to the manager for a good choice of staff and I imagine good training. There was a choice of... More

Visited the Inn on the beach, Hayling Island this afternoon for a family Christmas dinner of 25 people. We had a proper Xmas dinner which was served promptly for all and it was all really tasty. The staff were friendly and helpful. Everuone loved their meal and the location. The weather was cold but sunny. The views down the Solent and... More

We called in here for a Mid-day snack on a cold damp December day, and boy were we pleased to see the log stove sending out copious waves of heat, whilst looking out over a fog-bound sea. As they were busy we had a wait for our food, but it was well worth the wait !! If you are staying... More

Call me biast but you can't beat being sat inside or outside with a view over Hayling Bay at any time of year in any weather. Like many I've seen this property change hands and looks over the years and I think it's fair to say that it is the best that we've ever had. I went there last Saturday... More

We decided to visit this place whilst walking along the seafront in need of a pint. Expecting an ordinary looking pub from the outside we were suitably impressed as soon as we stepped inside and went up the stairs. It was really nice inside and we settled at a table near the bar with amazing views of the beach. Instead... More

Unquestioningly a brilliant location with masses of tables inside and out catering for relaxing drink or full scale meal. Bustling, with a brasserie-type atmosphere...and prices to match. Paradoxically the serving process is quite pubby. Scrum at the (smallish) bar where all the ordering goes on, find a table, get your own cutlery and condiments. One end of the bar stacked... More

Hi Gordon Thanks so much for your review. We are "almost there" most of the time but yes it does get a little hectic on the ordering side Sunday lunchtimes! Thanks for bearing with us and glad you liked the ambiance and the food. See you again soon (at a quieter moment!) More

We live locally and have never eaten here. Called in by chance on Sunday lunchtime, had a decent Sunday Roast. It was busy but service was fine, food came quite quickly, staff were helpful. Places with a beach side location often serve very average food, but for the price we were happy. We will be making it a regular

I visited this restaurant in June and was amazed by the view. upon entering the restaurant I was not greeted and shown to a table, I had to find my own seat and order food in another room. I even asked one of the waiters for a drink and was told to go to the bar! The overall experience was... More

First time visit with a friend for lunch. Interesting place, which has a nice atmosphere. Several choices of eating area with great views of Hayling Bay. Pleasant bar staff, I thought £9.10 a little steep for a large white wine and pint of orange and soda. Average menu choice to suit all pockets but there was also a specials board.... More
