did not eat in on this occasion as it was glorious day so sat in the sun, fish and chips were just as good and look forward to going again, we were on our forth visit in as many years, love the islands and the people, one for your bucket list of places to see.

It is a fish and chip shop with a seating area. Although it is small, it is bright and cheerful with lovely staff. It is not licensed but you are welcome to take your own - within reason. As Lerwick is so far North and fish is caught here, it is so fresh! Jim and Norman do the loveliest, lightest... More

As regular visitors to Shetland to see the family, we make a point of having lunch at the Fort cafe, the service and food is excellent, the staff always pleasant, and the place bright and clean, the only drawback is its size, you have to choose the time well to get a table.

Can see why this place gets such good reviews, it really is a gem of a place and good value for a bite to eat while walking around Lerwick

A small, busy and very well loved fish and chip shop in the town with a small cafe area so you can eat in or take away. Excellent fish and chips, always absolutely fresh fish and plenty of it. Pleasant friendly staff. Nowhere better in town for good food and good value.

Nothing fancy just excellent fish and chips and a cuppa. The only problem if you could call it that, is the sitting area is quite small and very often full !

Sunday night is not a big time in Lerwick, but the Fort Cafe has a steady flow of business. Traditional fish and chippie, with the black and white photos of the harbour to prove they have been ther for some time. Eat in or take away. Not licensed. Beware, the full F&C includes 2 huge pieces of fish. We went... More

Fantastic fish and chips and everything else you would need, never fails to hit the spot! Competitive prices and fast service with table waiting available if sitting in, on this occasion we got a takeaway. Only constructive comment would be that service with a smile from staff would round off the complete experience! Well done.

Ive ate takeaway and in the cafe Takeaway - , i found the chips to be of poor quality , maybe i had the misfortune of getting the end of batch but it was definitely not up to standard with over 50% little crumbly bits ! The fish i got was quite small for the inflated price of £7.40 ,... More

It was so good we went back next day for a second visit. We sat in the sit-down part of the cafe. On summer visits we have sat on the harbour seats and tried to avoid feeding seagulls. The service was quick, and the fish and chips were as good as they come.
