This café/restaurant is situated at the back of a wonderfully eclectic arts/collectables shop and the food is wonderful. A huge array of great fresh salads, quiches, breads, cakes and selection of burgers (including veggie, pork, beef) plus hot specials (such as casseroles, meat loaf etc). Also choice of beers, wine, usual soft drinks. We had cheeseburger and dressed crab, both... More

We like to pop in for a hot chocolate and a gorgeous cake when we can. We have also had main meals here and the quality is good and service friendly. The cafe and restaurant has expanded each time we have visited Orkney and with the quality you can see why.

All the restaurants are down by the harbourside and they seem to be full needing, reservations. This is on the main street and to our minds was the best place in Kirkwall to eat and we never had a problem getting a table. They make food on the premises within sight of everyone. It's lovely to see a cake being... More

Wife had the pate and the daughter had a smoked salmon platter. Everything was finished off easily as all loved the food... More

we arrived on a miserable August day with very little time to enjoy a proper lunch. But the venue looked really interesting and the staff were very welcoming, We only had enough time for tea and cake but it was first class and everything the surrounding customers were served was equally delicious looking. take a little time to enjoy the... An informal, snack-bar atmosphere makes this a good place to drop in any time - it serves food till 9.00pm, open till 10.00. The food is good, and the service quick (you order at the counter). It's not the place for a special occassion, but we ate there again and again during our stay in Kirkwall.

Stopped off for a quick bite - home baked bannock, cheese and chutney and a coffee. All food yummy (my neighbour ordered a ploughmans lunch that looked scrumptious as well) , very friendly service. What more could you want?! Brilliant.

This little cafe is conveniently located at the heart of Kirkwall and open considerably longer than the others. Even late on the day you an turn up here and find a wide selection of produce still available. Whether it be for a hot meal or coffee and cake, this place will not let you down. Everything is prepared fresh to... More

Delicious food, lots of choice, and open much later than most of the local cafes. A bit pricey, by my standards, but worth it.

I was very happy to find this restaurant, located in the back of Judith Glue, which by the way, is a quality souvenir shop that has quite tasteful items for sale. The food is excellent, with a variety of healthy as well as local dishes, and it is a comfortable, cheerful place. It is a perfect place to sit and... More
