Great late night stopping place

I was on the 11:45 ferry from Kirkwall to Aberdeen and needed a place to sit and have a cup of tea. The Cafe was open, warm an welcoming. The shop is vast and full of everything from fun souvenirs to pricey fine woolens, but the tea was lovely and the staff was friendly. Great for a long night's... read more

The cafe was busy but the staff were friendly and efficient. I had soup, bread and coffee one day and came back another day for coffee and gluten free apple and cinnamon cake - a real treat

Located opposite St Magnus' Cathedral in Kirkwall and in the main shopping area this cafe is at the back of the Judith Glue shop. Visited it twice - first time for coffee and scones which were very nice; there are also some good looking cakes on offer. Second time we had soup and crab salad. Again very nicely done and... More

Judith Glue woollies in abundance! And beautiful they are. But also other interesting things to buy and when all that retail therapy gets too much, give the cafe a try. A party of 3 meat- eaters and 3 veggies all found something to tempt. I had stopped choosing cheesecake because so disappointed in the past , but something made me... More

Well worth a visit, good wholesome food prepared in front of you. Plenty of local food but it is advisable to book during busy holiday periods.

We had some really tasty soup with particularly lovely homemade bere (ancient barley) bannocks. Nice surroundings too. It's quite pricey but really good quality and it's worth it if you have cash to spend.

Good coffee and cakes but on the expensive side for what you get. Also they offer free WiFi but it wasn't working the day we were there, so if you're going there to enjoy coffee and cake with free WiFi check first before placing your order.

We note your comment and remember you sitting for hours at a table also we do not advertise free Wi Fi but do give out Wi Fi to customers. Unfortunately reliability of this service is outwith our control and sometimes it is not accessible. For people who wish internet access for long periods we recommend they use the local library...
