Good Indian Meal

Landed up here late in the evening on the first day of our cycling holiday. Don't let the décor put you off as we had a really good and authentic meal. However, I do appreciate that this always depends on the chef employed. When we ate there, it was great!

Not saying much by considering the competition but this is the best Indian on the main island and probably across the whole of the Orkneys. I wasn't expecting much as I found myself struggling as a vegetarian in Kirkwall but this place ticked all the boxes and served up a good, if somewhat generic, Indian meal.

Booked a takeaway, first in a long time, will be an equally long time before I return. Ordered takeaway for 5 people and not one person had a decent meal. Bland, watery, was far worse than any pre packed meal from the super market Hadnt been in 6 mths and was really looking forward to it, esp with family up... More

A busy Friday night for the restaurant but they looked after us very well as usual. A very enjoyable meal with friends and lovely, relaxed, atmosphere. After a plate of poppadums and chutneys I had my usual Lamb Dansak, because it is just so good! We all enjoyed our food - even got a taster of a new dish that... More

Dil Se have a wide choice on their menu to suit a wide range people, including all the regular favourites and items clearly marked on a spice/temperature level. The staff were somewhat friendly, but didn't offer any suggestions or real information when asked about certain dishes. The vast majority of Indian restaurants have some sort of background music which helps... More

My partner had chicken korma, which she had eaten on a previous visit. I chose the garlic chicken, with egg fried rice. It was far too much for me, and I was too timid to ask for a doggy bag. The service was polite and efficient. The decor was fresh and ambient. The toilets were clean and well supplied. I... More

Excellent selection of food. Very friendly people. It’s also incredibly good environment , and in our opinion, worth it.No doubt... Had the best Briyani I've ever had in my life there. It kinda has a reputation as a tourist joint but they have very, very good food there...

Had a lovely meal here, little mishap on the first visit, but returned 2 days later to have a lovely meal - the meals are really tasty and there is a good wine selection. A must visit.

Have been too busy to get to DilSe for over a year but wanted to treat my mum-in-law to a good Indian meal. As she is vegetarian there is not always a lot of choice in some 'normal' restaurants. We started with poppadums and dips which were lovely. I had Lamb Dansak as it really is excellent here and I... More
